Just curious. Is the main or one of the main reasons for your suicidality? How are you currently living and functioning in this world if I may ask?

I wouldn't say it's one of the main reasons for my suicidality. I would say that I'm barely functioning at this point; it can be hard to even get things at the store if I don't know where they are because then I can't speak. Luckily, my family takes care of most of that for me.

I am not selective mute myself, but had one student years ago who was. She was incredibly intelligent and endured a lot of trauma which certainly was a major factor in her suicide attempts. I am very interested to hear your own and others' experiences living with mutism.

is there more you can say about them? I'm afraid I'll never be allowed to not talk. a life of forced speech hurts

This was about 10 years ago so it's not that fresh in my mind, but she never spoke during her time in our facility. Not sure if anything changed as an adult.
