Help Are there any good guides on how to find the carotid artery?

Basically I've been trying to find the thing for about two days now, and I'm having no luck. Most video guides I've found are just about locating the pulse, and I'm pretty stupid so I'm struggling with written guides. Can anyone help me with this?

In For Whom the Bell Tolls they say to push behind the the ear then pull straight down. Idk how accurate that is.

Facing the same issue here. Tried all the places, firm pressure, although I only get a little blurry.
