Any gun people out there? As the title of the thread asks, are +p bullets that much more effective for ctb? I have standard pressure 115 grain JHP bullets, but now I'm doubting my choice, and wondering if I should've gone with the +p 124 grain JHP bullets. I went with the standard 115s because those are the only kind I've shot with before, and I freaked out. According to the box, the difference in feet per second was only about 75 ft.

I only get one shot! For reference, my gun is a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. It's a subcompact gun. I know it's not ideal like a shotgun or .45 ACP, but it's what I've got. I was planning to ctb this weekend, likely on Saturday.

my partner is very knowledgeable on guns, and i know a decent amount from him, but am not an expert. from what i understand, +p rounds means the bullet can expand more when shot than regular ammo. 9mm is a decent strength which if shot correctly, should suffice. +p ammo would just mean it may do more damage per se than a non +p bullet. i think if you are used to using standard 115 rounds then you should stick with those. i think as long as you aim for the brain stem, you should be successful in ctb. i also plan on ctb with a gun so i would stick to something i am comfortable with as well. i wish you luck and hope you are able to find peace in whatever you choose to do.
