Are hotels always insured against damages ?

Not planning to lit up the building into a giga fireworks, just wondering about cleaning the place of dirt / smell, plus covering the missing nights out of business. *palace edition* ^^

I've set a near empty bank account for the D day (to not spoil card charges in retrospect). My succession will be denied but may consider reimbursemnt based on good will if the margin is grounded as realistic

Yes, the large hotel chains have insurance that covers this. They will hire a cleaning company to deep clean the room and replace anything that has been damaged.

In the worst case, they would charge your credit card for any money they felt you owed them. This isn't likely as the insurance would cover this. The credit card company would file a claim with your estate in order to get paid. The hotel can't force your family to pay for any damage you caused. They wouldn't publicly go after the family of someone who committed suicide. It would make them look bad and ruin their reputation.

I would advise against planning to ctb in a hotel. If a maid or hotel worker is the one to find you, you may cause severe psychological damage.

May be true if using gunshot or hanging and again you can put a sign stating to not enter but call the police ahead of the scene past the entrance.

I had this concern before but spent time reading reddit threads on the subject and it eased my mind a lot. The staff seems rather unbothered in general and quite comprehensive. They apply strict protocols to situations. It seems part of the folfklore of this industry. In fact, the feedback seemed understanding with agreement it has to be done at a more neutral place than at home traumatising families. Also not worse than at a park risking a discovery by kids.
I even read complaints of the management about guests being insensitive towards these events. I no longer feel any hesitation to do it there since a choice must be done. For me, it's more pain in the ass than to do it from the comfort of home but possibly more respectful towards relatives who may inhabit that place and face memories later

Thanks for this thread, I had the same questions. I don't think I ll be leaving too much of a mess, but I'm planning to leave them some cash along with my suicide note, just in case. Maybe 5 days' room charge or something like that. I'm also planning to do it in a large hotel chain specifically bc a) they'd be more used to it and b) less of a dent on their business than a smaller hotel trying to survive.
