Have you been following the controversy on the deployment of the new 5G cellular networks? I think those that dismiss the controversy as a conspiracy theory don't know what they're talking about. In fact I think that this issue is a good example of the gov't working to promote corporate interests without adequately considering the impact on public safety.

The speaker in this video, Sabine Hossenfelder has a PhD in physics and is presently a Research Fellow at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS). She addresses the issue in a reasonable and comprehensive manner.

TLDR from the video: "The available studies do not provide adequate and sufficient information for a meaningful safety assessment.." [Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6765906/]

And if you're a science geek like me be sure to check out Sabine's YT channel "Science without the gobbledygook".

Nobody knows what the long-term health hazards of using smartphones are yet. The same applies to 5G.

According to David Icke he says this will bring many diseases, fry our brains and develop cancer much sooner. But he's a conspiracy theorist so dunno for a fact obviously. But he's been on it for years.

the way people are always discovering new things...nothing really provides sufficient info for anything

With how quickly technology has been advancing these past few decades, any number of things we're exposed to every day could be killing us without us knowing yet. However, 3g, 4g and 5g are just radio waves. There is absolutely no evidence that radio waves at the levels used by things like WiFi can harm humans. The only way that radio waves can harm you is by transmitting enough energy to produce heat. Radio waves are no more dangerous than sunlight.

not to blow what you said out of the water but too much sunlight causes skin cancer

That's exactly my point. We're not here panicking about sunlight, when it's actually much more likely to harm you.
yes but by saying "no more dangerous than..." you are saying that it is actually dangerous. but yeah people freak out about EVERYTHING. my stepdad would heat something in the microwave leave the room and wouldnt come back until a little bit after it dinged. its a microwave. everyone has one. i think you dont have that much to worry about dude.

I watched a video on this by kurzgesagt which used peer reviewed sources. Basically there's very weak evidence that suggest it may slightly increase our risk of cancer but probably not. There's not really any long term studies but in terms of technology, 5G is very similar to Wi-Fi so we've already been exposed to "5G" for many years with no consequences. There was the same outcry when 4G was being rolled out and I expect the same when 6G is too.

5g may cause harm to us but its' never gonna be cancer. It's just too weak to "mess" with our bodies so to speak. Honestly, we should be more concerned with the low level xrays we do on chest xrays etc. Those have a very low percent of causing cancer but it's disregarded for the better benefits. Plus you can't directly trace it back to the exposure if you happen to have cancer, since its not an instant effect.

A lot of perfectly valid criticisms and points of view are being dismissed as conspiracies lately, but at the same time, there are so many extremely deranged conspiracists with a clear agenda that it's hard not to think of things like this as yet another conspiracy theory.

As for this issue, I don't think that there's any immediate harm that comes with these new technologies, but there may be some side effects from many forms of electromagnetic radiation that we haven't discovered or observed yet, but even if it turns out to be real, many scientists would notice about it and protest its usage, like asbestos and many other things that were shown to affect health in a very negative way.

It's good to be wary of corruption and corporate abuse, there have been far too many scandals to trust big corporations to care about our health or quality of life. as long as we can approach these subjects in a grounded and unbiased way.

Well, if you stand directly in front of any high powered radio transmitter for too long, you can overheat. So saying that they're 100% free of danger would be a lie, just like overexposure to sunlight might harm you. But in the context of normal, everyday exposure it's harmless and panicking about it makes no sense.

Microwave ovens were invented after some engineer found his sandwiches heated up after he left them next to a transmitter.

If I remember rightly some engineers (navy I think) died when they were basically cooked by a high power radar type transmitter.

Generally yes. I'm sure they'll find out decades from now it raised the cancer risk but they find that about just about every industrial material. For example even consider the SN suicide method - the first time i had ever heard about that material was in a context not relating to CTB. Supposedly people fear its a long term carcinogen due to its heavy use in the processed meats.

It is real danger for health. Privacy is a long forgotten dream anyway.
I wonder why everything that does not fit in governments box is called a conspiracy. They already proved tausend times that they don't really care for people.

Yes privacy is a total joke, its probably in all reality been gone for 20 years or more. Even pre internet you can find well document government is keeping databases on select individuals they don't like going back a long time.

Remember snowden - conspiracy theory became conspiracy fact.

I'm very sure that it's all conspiracy..
The same BS was made during the 4G/4G+/4G advanced launch.
If this technology would kill or "microwave" people, then why I lost the 5G signal as soon as I enter some building or get into a train or bus?
It's because 5G works similarly to the 5Ghz WiFi signal but the 5G connection is actually weaker and cannot penetrate a wall like the 5Ghz WiFi does.
