As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have found an outdoor hotel pool that's extremely high. There's no balconies on the hotel, and absolutely nothing on the sides of the hotel that could break my fall. I'd want to avoid jumping onto the side with the hotel entrance (so I don't land on anybody), but that still leaves 3 sides to the hotel to jump from. The hotel is about an hour away from me, but I'm willing to drive there. The hotel is in a rural area, which makes this an odd case of a tall rural hotel.
The only problem is that the hotel has a huge glass wall about 20 feet tall covering the entire pool area. It's impossible to jump from the pool area unless I can get rid of the glass.

Anyway, if I use a sledgehammer to try to smash out the windows, would there be any chance the glass wouldn't break?

I've seen a video of a man in Mumbai who took out a hotel window to jump. It wouldn't shatter, but it eventually came loose from the ends after battering it for a while with some furniture found inside. I'm not sure if protections would vary from country to country or even based on the economic status of the hotel. This was a nicer one which could have afforded nicer windows. I'd imagine anything with enough force would cause it to come loose, but you may have to work for it.

Was he using a sledgehammer though? Those tend to be a lot stronger than normal hammers.

Anyway, I'd need to basically knock out the window in one smash since this would be in a public area, not a private room.

I don't know, @Jessica5 - if you were building a hotel with enough storeys to attract jumpers, and putting a swimming pool up there, would you surround it with panes that a woman with a sledge hammer could destroy in one smash, or would you probably make them of something stronger than that?
