It is someone that did very extensive research on sn. I heard that he read articles and looked into people's experiences. The pph listed this method, but with taking meto 30 min before sn instead of 45. Stan believed 45 min before to be best. Many people have tried Stan's guide and appear to have been successful. I've also heard that he was friends with a mod on here(I believe it was sinister kid...I didn't see any mention if they knew each other in real life or on this website, although I do believe they met on here).

If you are asking for their real identity, I don't think that will ever be made public.

Yeah, they are. Basically, he was an older guy(I don't know if his age was mentioned in old threads). He was a user here and did all of his own research combined with the pph. He then chose to share his findings with us and to explain everything about the meds in his own words. That's why everyone references his guide. It's just a guy who helped his community out!

I'm pretty sure I'd read that they were good friends on this site. I think Stan ctb without calling Jean that night. I read that they talked often to each other, over Skype I believe. You should be able to dig it up if you search the old posts in the search bar. You can narrow the search by the username.

He was a legend. And yes was having a relationship with Jean4. They were both fabulous people and badly missed around here.
He had done so much research into SN that he was considered the resident expert, and he ended up answering the same questions over and over and over again. So he wrote the guide and it was considered so helpful and informative it was added to the resources section.
Can't personally confirm it but he did claim to be about to ctb by SN and I personally have no reason to doubt him, having read all his posts on the matter at the time.

I had so much fun reading his Threads and comments as a guest.
He is resting now, I hope.

Stan was a frequent poster who had done a lot of research into the SN method of suicide. He was pretty cool and his SN guide is his legacy on this board for which we owe a great deal of debt (I know I do, as SN is my method of choice.)

Stan never claimed a relationship with Jean, she started claiming it on his goodbye thread. If someone wants to see what things were like after his ctb, they can enter her username in the search as both user and subject. Many people loved and still love her, many people didn't and still don't. See the User Discussion Megathread in Offtopic for why she was banned, including the mod's comment about it, and a quick view of how folks felt about her both pro and con.

Stan ctb'd a few weeks before I joined, so I didn't interact with him but I've read lots of old threads in general, including those he commented on. When I joined, he was still mentioned regularly for the first few months, and the atmosphere of the forum was cult-like as far as Stan, the method and the guide. Some would agree with that assessment, some would not, but regardless, I'm relieved that time has passed. If you look back at Stan's posts, he was very consistently down to earth, intelligent, dry and witty sense of humor, defender of the forum from scammers (see the pinned scams thread) and pro-lifers, ego in check, well-respected and liked but not universally, very human and not at all god-like. From what I recall reading when I researched the method and the guide, he wanted to figure out the method for himself and not just take the PPH's word for it. He was involved in and also started discussion threads about the method, and got a lot of community input before finalizing the guide.

If you want to know what he was like, or why and how he researched the method, go to search, enter Stan in the username, and his posts will come up. If you want to know what people said about him before and after he died, enter his name in the subject.

I'm always skeptical since this is a public site and therefore I don't trust anyone period, but after reading his posts, I wish we'd been members at the same time, I would have enjoyed interacting with him. As much as I can someone I don't know on a public forum, and assuming he was who he represented himself to be, I respect him.

Stan performed exhaustive research on SN; more research than any other member would do.

He created the guide to mitigate the countless (nearly 15 a day) SN threads that would pop up asking the same questions. Also the guide was created because the SN megathread was a mess.

Stan wasn't a GOD or a messiah as some posters make him out to be, but the SN guide was a tremendous resource for this forum.

Oh I'm glad she's ok. I didn't know about any controversial bits, having been locked up in a psych ward myself at the time she left the site. When I saw line through her name when I got back online I just assumed she ctb. Just shows one should never assume anything, particularly the goings-on while one is in the funny farm oneself

I am using this for antacids which is in sn method. Is this good enough.
Thanks

Dimenhydrinate

Dimenhydrinate, or Dramamine, is a common nausea drug with abuse potential. Learn how the drug affects people to better understand the risks of dimenhydrinate use.

What Is Dimenhydrinate?
Dimenhydrinate is an antihistamine. However, unlike many antihistamines, it is not used for allergies. Instead, it is more often used for nausea. The drug blocks the histamine 1 (H1) receptor, which is present in great quantities throughout the brain. Dimenhydrinate itself is not a single drug. Instead, it is a combination of two other drugs, which each make up around half of a dimenhydrinate dose. Those drugs are:
  • Diphenhydramine: This antihistamine is best known as being the main ingredient in Benadryl. Similarly, it is also the active ingredient in dimenhydrinate.
  • 8-chlorotheophylline: This drug is not an antihistamine and has no direct effect on nausea or motion sickness. Instead, it helps to block sedation, one of the main side effects of diphenhydramine. Therefore, people can take dimenhydrinate without feeling as sleepy as they might while taking diphenhydramine or other H1 receptor blockers.

It's not in the method and it's not good enough. Go the pinned Resource Compilation on the main page, look for the links to Stan's Guide and the SN Resources. If you still have questions and want enough people to see, start a new thread.

Btw I'm not being mean, I'm just being direct.

In the latest edition of the PPH which just came out it says that can be used. I'm no expert, just saying what it says. I just read it today.
