I can't imagine what on earth might be the point of a double suicide of two strangers. What do you gain by having an other stranger with you, other than complication, extra drama, extra annoyance, someone else's mental problems, one more person's drama and sob stories and legal liability. One could not pay me enough to agree to something like that.

There are surprisingly many people who do it together. They are usually a completely stranger (sometimes just whole family). They do it together because they fear death and unsuccessful ctb. SI is pretty strong so having other people helps them to actually get through it and do it. They gather to share information as well like this forum.
