I also have it.
How do you cope with it in your daily life?
How long have you had it and how old are you?
Do you want to die now or a bit later? I am undecided yet, the pain is quite bad and no doctor can help me with it.

Severe chronic tinnitus. Id take chronic pain over this shit anyday. Ive always had a high tolerance to it.

Even so, at least you can have a break every once in a while with strong painkillers. There is no break with loud tinnitus.

I don't know if I would prefer the tinnitus or not, but at least I could walk again and work at my job...I would give so much to be able to do that

My sleep is okish, took a while though. Went through months of hell. The problem is Ive always liked my alone time (mix of extrovert and introvert) and now thats been robbed from me.

Im stable now, but this is no life. Its also only going to get worse with age.

Imagine this; youre with friends having a good time, nights going well. All of a sudden eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
You try to get you mind of it but you cant. The more you fight it the louder it becomes. Then as the night does there are moments you forget about it. You come home to your quiet house and there it is. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. This time there is no distraction.

Youre forced to live with an unwanted noise for the rest of your life. Following you like a fucking demon. Kicking you while youre trying to have fun. The louder it gets, the harder it is to ignore. A horrible illness.

I quit 6 months of my life due to tinnitus. Not tinnitus, but TINNITUS.

There is a huge difference between volume levels.

I had mild tinnitus for one year, it was annoying but no big deal. 6 months ago it turned into hell and only got louder.

I don't even know what is worse-the pain or tinnitus.
It really sounds like hell!!!
And nothing can help you-no drugs, or surgery, or anything?

Probably this has been suggested before, but would it do any good to remove the cochlea as a last measure?

Nope. That would only make you deaf with tinnitus. Its all the the brain.

I've had chronic pain from Achilles tendonitis in my right leg for 5 years, I'm 21. It takes pretty much all enjoyment out of my life. I'm always tired. It hurts when I wake up in the morning, and gets worse the more I use it. If it weren't for this injury I think I'd have a happy life. I used to love playing sports and being active.

I've been trying to get a degree in engineering but I keep having to take time off for becoming depressed. I think the pain gets to me and everything becomes too much. I stop eating and going to class. I'm living with my parents right now. I hate that I'm not able to take care of myself at this age, some of my peers have bought houses and I've gotten nowhere. So frustrating.

welcome to the club.
How long can you walk for with your injury?
I don't know where you live, but when I was 21 I knew no one who bought a house:D

The thing with my injury is that you'd never know that I had it unless I told you, I don't have a limp and I can do most everything anyone else can, but it pains. Even walking will hurt, especially afterward.

Yeah, I don't even want to own a house tbh. I guess I just see that my peers have progressed and I have stayed where I am or even regressed. I had a large scholarship but I lost it. I had a promising start to life but ever since I got hurt I've just not been able to get back on track. The constant pain seems to be too much for me to take.
