I looked at the page of Dignitas. There's a procedure to follow. I would request it but I dont have a diagnosis, or a report from my psychiatrist.
Someone tried it?

I've thought about it, but it's a very time consuming process. I think they even have a queue of people wanting to exit.

It also cost a lot of money. Much more expensive than N.

You also have to travel abroad to the clinic.

Yeah, if you want someone to do the job for you, then you got to offer something worth their while. But it goes another way too. What if instead of providing the choice between positive and zero (cash or nothing), we could offer zero or something nasty? That way we pay nothing and still get the service.

I don´t follow, what do you mean by that? Like we have to result to methods that they might have to cleanup which will cost them money?

I would love to have this option. I studied their site a few years ago and did not remember needing a note from a doctor. That would be very difficult, I feel, to find. It could take years to convince an American doctor, influenced by Christian thought one way or another, even if they don't realize it, to write a note recommending the suicide of a physically healthy human being. I recall something about having to make a reservation. I thought that was amusing in a strange way. My birthday came to mind.

they wrote this:
"clear diagnosis of the illness, description of its cause and development, proof of all therapies tried (with or without success) plus an in-depth psychiatric appraisal concerning the capacity of judgement and discernment in regard of the wish for a self-determined end of life, also confirming that this wish is not a symptom of the psychiatric illness but a well-considered balance decision."
Its A LOT. My psychiatrist would never agree to this.

I see. I haven't looked at the site in a few years. It would be nice. I read about a man going out listening to his favorite music and being tended to by competent people.

Agreed. Seriously ill people should have the option of a peaceful and dignified exit.

As it stands right now, the only option for most people is a so called natural death.

Quite frequently this involves pain, physical and mental. Waiting for the body to be sufficiently weakened.

See the attachment for the files I received last year.

I would have went with DIGNITAS if it wasn't for the cost. I had enough money in like early 2018 but it took forever to get my psychiatrist to create a letter needed for DIGNITAS. I literally had to beg her for a year to write something that a doctor connected to DIGNITAS would accept. Now I'm short a lot of money cause life sucks trying to live with an illness that makes you want to die every day.

In the same time I've been trying to get coverage where I live in Canada for assistant dying. Laws might change here in Canada and where you can have a right to die even when only suffering a psychological illness; where death isn't foreseeable.

You can get the right to die over in Switzerland by just suffering major depression. That isn't what I suffer but it's interesting how nice they make it for people there.

Talked to someone from Exit a while back and they were highly skeptical about Dignitas (the person I talked to anyway, if not Exit itself). Not that Dignitas cant do the job but that the hoops and expenses are huge. It's hard to fly to Switzerland when you're suffering and broke from medical expenses, and it's hard to convince them to help you in the first place. Politics.

I think probably in 50 years (i hope less) there will be suicide clinics in more countries. Climate change will change everything. Maybe the governments will decide to legalize suicide everywhere to control the population.

Holland might be cheaper. I am not entirely sure but the price of "the traject to green light" here must have been 2500 euro for a dutch citizen in the days that health insurance still didn't cover it. Nowadays it's covered by any healh insurance for all citizens.
Holland made progression with foreigners euthanasia wise; https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/euthanasia-in-the-netherlands.17122/

I got partway through process. They want 4k up front even though I don't have approval yet. The total will be 10k. I just can't afford it and hate the idea you have to go in my case when not quite ready as if leave too late will be too ill to make it.

Don't know about them crazy prices,
I think the person in the Uk will come and see you, talk through what you would like to do, he will then say if it doable or not, he has from what I read access and the means to acquire certain items, price wise I would imaging petrol money and a days worth of wages so not much, when it comes to methods he doesn't take your money he will give you details of sites to purchase stuff, once it all arrives he comes back to you and goes through everything, its advice not assistance.

Yes and you will need longterm medical history about your depression. Otherwise the doctor that will evaluate your request will not agree with your request. You need evidence you've tried whatever with the illness being longterm and not ceasing while being unbearable for you.

I think what they mean is if you put a gun to someone's head and say inject me with N or I'll kill you then they'll do it for free, you won't have to pay money, because they won't want you to kill them - a.k.a. "Do something nasty"

I have considered it, but knowing the criteria for it, no I don't even come close so I don't bother. Plus, it would cost a fortune and more for me to go to a place where it is legal (Netherlands, Switzerland, etc.) in order to get euthanized. It is far easier to take matters into my own hands by CTB'ing when the circumstances are right rather than waiting until someone gives the green light to do so.
