I'm in the south of the UK. It's hard to live here, but hard to ctb too. There's no winning.

Not currently, but half of my year is spent in the UK, London specifically. I'm an American, but my husband is English.

Edit:
Just to wax poetic on my life here…I actually really like the UK, my ancestors were overwhelmingly British (mostly English, with a good mix of Irish and Scottish), with about a quarter German on the side. So in a lot of ways it feels like coming home, especially seeing the villages in which my ancestors lived, the churches they were married/buried in before coming to the colonies. At the same time I feel like an outsider. I've had more recent immigrant groups, like Pakistanis, literally tell me to my face to go back to my own country, that I don't belong here whenever they hear my southern accent. My husband, God love him, is kinda in agreement, at least in the sense that I can never be a 'true' British person. It's really lonely, feeling like the unwanted 'other' in a place that your family existed in for thousands of years before the brief concept of the states.

I'm from the UK as well, amazed to see so many people from here on this forum.

Yes, I live in the UK. I hate the fact how in this country ctb can be very difficult, it's certainly a very pro life country with no legal assisted dying options and euthanasia clinics. Suicide certainly is so stigmatised here and I have never particularly liked living in this country, in fact I wish that I lived nowhere at all. In my opinion, never having to exist in this world at all is the best thing possible.

Yeah, I'd say it's one of the most anti-ctb countries, potentially. It's voted down euthanasia for people with terminal illnesses multiple times if I recall correctly. It's amazing how backwards it is. I did read recently that, I think, the island of Jersey legalised euthenasia in this cirumstance though, becoming the first part of the UK to do so. Hopefully it's a sign that things will change soon....

Out of interest, do you guys have any thoughts regarding the case of that young girl in the news recently? You know the one.
The blame was laid on social media...largely Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook I believe. No doubt there is a lot of bullying and dangerous, uninformed content flying about those places. I absolutely understand why a parent would look to make some kind of sense from something that must feel so senseless and to be given (by law) a scapegoat to lay the blame upon must seem right and they're behaving as any parent naturally would.
But I believe they should accept some degree of blame themselves at some point. Not all, obviously, but this didn't happen overnight. Did they notice nothing?

Yeah it's really beautiful down here. I live near a good spot to ctb too . When I am ready ....
Really? I've been looking for good locations for ctb as I'm not a local, but haven't found any yet. I hope it works out for you when the time comes 🥰

As an American anglophile, I always loved you british people and your self depreciating humors. To be honest this world and life fking sux for most people across the globe. The UK is really not that bad... and that's a huge understatement. The world is about to get a whole lot worse in the coming years for everyone, except the global elites ofc. If I were to choose another major country to live in other than the US, I would choose the UK in a heartbeat.

Love from this hopelessly depressed American anglophile ❤️ 🍵 💂‍♀️

Yep I'm from the UK. The land of unnecessary regulation and the requirement of a license to wipe your ass.

@Kattt 100% agree on the tax thing. Road tax, fuel tax, value added tax, insurance liability (tax), the list goes on.

I'd swap you in a heartbeat. Been to America a few times and love it over there. It's not perfect, but nowhere is. At least you guys have the second amendment on your side, even if some states are getting strict with it, it's better than the UK system.

Yes - and can anyone please PM me a source of SN? I asked the other day on the forum and haven't received any replies.

I am between SN, hanging and jumping off a bridge. Hmm. London. I read about someone who fell off Kingston Bridge and died - here are two stories:
