Does fear of the afterlife make anyone else hesitate about Ctb or is it just me?

That is a factor, no doubt. I think it will be ok, but I'm not sure. I have not agreed to any certain religion's beliefs, because I seem to find logical flaws in them pretty easily, but if I'm wrolng about this it could be really bad. At some time I'll need to take the chance.

I tend to be more interested in afterlife than in this meaningless empty life.

I believe there is no after life just as there is no before life, you simply didn't exist before you were born just as you don't exist after you die. Once you die I believe the dream we call life is over.

And once the sun has burned out all life on earth will cease to exist, probably even some time before this.

This to me is very comforting, nothing really matters as we are all going to die anyway.

somewhat. The not knowing what it will be like is very uncomfortable to me. But life is painful so I suppose uncomfortable is preferable.
Wishing you the best.

If there is an afterlife then not believing in it won't change thinigs though. So many near death experiences show the sould living after the body dies, and I personally think this is very likely based on so many similar reports.

Totally fear here too, especially because of what is said about suicides going to hell. Although I have heard of cases that this is not always the case, but they end up in another place that is not heaven either, it is an intermediate and strange place, empty... It scares me a lot, and I believe a lot in afterlife for the thousands of testimonies that exist, not because of what the preachers in the churches say, I have never been very religious, but because of the testimonies of believers and non-believers. What they all say about afterlife is tremendously similar, there are the souls who go to the good place and feel magnificently well, without pain, loved, etc. and those who go to hell, which is the opposite, and there are also other interesting experiences, but in general is that.

All of them tell stories with many characteristics in common, and one of the ones that I consider most important is that 100% of the testimonies assure that afterlife feels MORE REAL than life on Earth, that is, they do not feel the same than on Earth, nor like a dream, but they feel it as if it were the Matrix movie, that reality afterlife is more real than life on Earth, and they have the total certainty that it is real, not a dream or a hallucination.

There are some interesting ndes where people go back to their real home and they find that they agreed to live this life for the lessons in it and then they would potentially plan another life. However, any lessons learned from this life do not seem worth it compared to the amount of pain in this life, and I'm sure many people here agree with this.

I have also heard that, that what we live in this life, is broadly already planned in advance, before birth. And that the objective of experiencing these experiences is the evolution of the soul. Probably, the soul evolves and learns more suffering than having a wonderful life (I suppose).

There is no evidence beyond anecdotal of an afterlife. All NDEs can have non-metaphysical explanations. The fact that many people believe something does not make it true.

This has also been one of my concerns and If it happens then it will really suck. I guess I'll have to find out one day when it's time. Just want out period. Cant and don't wanna live this life out until the natural end. Whatever it is theres nothing we can do about it. We never asked for this consciousness. One day we wake up conscious and we're screwed for eternity possibly.

If anything, I'm more nervous that there is an afterlife. I don't want to exist after this life, so I hope to obtain nothing but silence once I pass.

Ndes are so fascinating to me. I honestly don't know what to make of them though. I would like to think that there's some point of being here on earth and that's why the thought of the afterlife is concerning. Like what if one religion was right all along? There always seems to be too many questions and not enough answers

Yes, in a way. I mean nobody knows what truly happens to us when we go but one thing is for sure, that nobody gets out of this sucker alive. So really, I'm just choosing to speed that process up and leave this life earlier…I just hope whatever happens will end the suffering I endure day in and out. Even if it's eternal nothingness, that sounds a hell of a lot better than how my life is now.

Only thing I'm afraid after death, could you imagine how shitty it would be to finally die in peace and then you meet everyone that you left behind in the afterlife?

Me too! I constantly think my soul will be wandering in the same place where I ctb. I feel like I may be stuck there feeling suffocated forever.

You mean even though you know u'll still be living a lousy lame typical human life, yes, you may be rich as hell and have a better quality of life but the final destination will be the same for all....you still wont know and might have to suffer all over again and might have to endure a painful death. I just would like to exit to never exist.

This topic comes up every 2 days in the forum. For good reason though, it's the biggest issue of concern, so yes of course I'm concerned about a potential afterlife and how my CTB will be percieved in that afterlife.

I don't really believe in an afterlife, but sometimes I wonder if it's real and then I'm also scared of it. I obviously don't want to go to Hell but even Heaven sounds terrible. It would be nice for a while but the problem is that Heaven lasts forever. Even though being there would be great at the beginning, after I did everything possible and had nothing left to do, I'd want to stop existing but I wouldn't be able to. I'd have to stay conscious for eternity with nothing left to do and nothing left to be conscious for, just doing the same actions over and over, which sounds terrifying

Definitively.
I don't know what's worse: the fear of inexistence itself or the fear of (a kind of) hell.
One of the reasons of why i'm still here.
