Anyone else dissatisfied with the selection of modern entertainment?

Modern movies and tv are shit. Video games are eh. Modern authors need to stop writing books. They've butchered the craft.

Agreed, there’s few exceptions for me though. I really enjoyed Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and I find historical movies more interesting than fictional ones. As for games, I just play ow2 when I’m feeling anxious, have been doing so since it came out lol. Can’t be bothered to play anything else, it’s a chore to me.

With few exceptions, I do not enjoy popular music, movies, games, or shows. Not sure if it's because I am totally burned out on them or because they are just trash now. Instead of TV shows now I turn to YouTube for original, authentic content instead of corporate-produced trash. Pop music is absolutely horrible and AI should have no problem replacing it eventually since it already sounds like it's generated from an algorithm. There is great music out there but it's usually not high on the charts. I still like a couple indie games. I think human creativity still exists when it's not destroyed by huge production companies. Anhedonia makes it hard to enjoy anything though.

On the contrary, I love it. There is a greater variety of entertainment nowadays. Some of my favourite artists never would have been given a platform in the past. You might not like the latest Selena Gomez song or whatever but there's way more than the Billboard Hot 100. I still enjoy artists on there, it's not all crap. I never understood the complete hate for music made this decade. There is so much. Same goes for TV or movies. I especially enjoy sapphic content so I wouldn't have the options I do in the past.

I honestly have lost interest in things that I used to enjoy. I mostly will watch people that I follow on YouTube when I have time. Otherwise I’m reading, playing with cats. I’m just now starting to get over some form of agoraphobia and wanting to join some social groups but they all seem to be inactive.

No, not really. There’s loads of good shit out there and if you get tired of it, you can try foreign stuff. Try watching Bollywood or something. those movies are crazy fun.
