It's not that those who want to die SHOULD resort to public methods: suicide by cop, train, jumping in public, getting sucked into aircraft engine, or other things that might be considered 'traumatic' to others.
But it is painful to read all the callous remarks about those that resort to these methods. For example, someone recently wandered out onto an airport runway and got sucked into an engine.
Yes, it was reckless and endangered and traumatized others. I am not endorsing it or saying it is good.
What I am saying is,: what do you expect? That cornering desperate animals and telling them to STFU and suffer for decades, because it's all 'temporary' and not respecting their RIGHT to die is going to always have the result of them suffering in silence for your comfort?
Almost every person on the planet has paid enough in taxes, either sales tax, income tax, or any kind of tax, to cover their personal dose of pentobarbital for when they are ready to leave. This shouldn't even be up for debate.
Is SN more pleasant? The descriptions on attempts sound like extreme nausea type discomfort, not for me it's one of the least pleasant sensations and not the last thing I want to feel. Fent might work, but that's apparently sensationalized for media clicks, not that OD is impossible, but not reliable. Shotgun in the mouth? If you are lucky to live in the USA sure. If you had a failed attempt or any number of other reasons, your firearm rights are taken away. And having a gun in your mouth, from personal experience, is so so so difficult. And they would STILL complain about that.
So if one is forced to shotgun their own head, why not make it rain in public? At least the cleanup will be quick. For some reason the suicidal person is told that trauma is just part of life, tough, deal with it. But they are not permitted to traumatize others, yet wait a sec, I thought nature was just rough like that? Again I'm not saying it's right. It's just ridiculous that people have to do these things at all.
All of it is preventable. Imagine how many tragedies and how much trauma could be prevented, money saved, you name it, with simply granting adults the dignity of choosing an out when they need it.
