Is anyone else a NEET here? ('NEET' stands for 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training')

I only completed middle school and dropped out of vocational school and high school years ago. Since then i have been living on social welfare.

Does being a NEET make you feel like a burden to society? It makes me feel like a total loser.

i dropped out of school from age 12, never been employed, never been in training, i am also dependent on welfare, i don't feel like a loser because i know i am not, i'm just unlucky in life, i have a hobby programming made 10k online and had over 100k downloads on my software i started taking my toys to bits aged 5 and learn how electronics work, i guess if you've got something your passionate about then you make something of it

I consider myself being a NEET after I failed in life and I don't see any realistic chance to get out of this due to my age and other personal circumstances.

Not exactly yet but I'm close. I dropped out of high school and am basically flunking out of my online course, I struggled at my first and only job and have since struggled to find a job that suits my needs and due to my lack of motivation to pursue anything anymore + social anxiety and probable autism. I feel like I'll be stuck at home forever with my insufferable mother as I essentially lack the facilities to escape. I've spent most of this year watching my sister get ready for school and return from school whilst I've just been doomscrolling and doing absolutely nothing productive with my life. I don't want to derail her more peaceful life with my death but existing is just so painful. I don't see a future for myself other than chronic unemployment and being in and out of psych wards. I just hope she understands it was for the best.

Idk if I count but I'll probably gonna be a NEET in a couple of days.. Idk my social anxiety disables me to communicate with other people so much, especially that I've repeated my 12th grade because of the same reason.. currently in 12th grade rn

I don't think that people should feel like a burden because of that, as after all it isn't as if any of us could have ever asked to be brought into this cruel and dreadful existence, we have to suffer all because of other people.

I see working as being no different to slavery and we shouldn't all have to be slaves just because some other people so cruelly decided to procreate. Slavery is always repulsive and unacceptable to me, it's just meaningless and unnecessary suffering.

I graduated from school, not from university, had a job, I lived a life that people wanted me to have, I lived alone (I just had online friends).
Stress, waiting 3y to start HRT, aspergers etc, let me left my job, i live with my parents now and my only purpose in life. What makes me want to live is just playing videogames.
Everyone here is planing keeping that away from me, cuz its childish, i have to think just about a job and should never think about being happy. (for them being happy is having a job, stress and all theyr own bullshit)
So yes, I'm a NEET for the rest of my life and thats the only thing i not regegret in my life!
But yeah, i can't be a NEET foreverm they can trow me out from home etc, but i plan to leave this life before it happens

Yes I am one. I dropped out of high school (and vocational, only was able to last a few weeks) but was able to get an equivalent diploma. I'm only able to survive because I get disability. It feels like everyone is waiting for me to "get my shit together" and meet the milestones I'm expected to (job, driver's license, social expectations, etc.) otherwise I'm a burden to them and society at large. I can't bring myself to have those goals or care.

Man I feel like im this close to become one. Im starting a new degree in University after I basically droped out of the last one last year, but im already feeling bored and unmotivated about it. Plus im soon gonna pass the exam for my driver license but each day I feel like im getting closer and closer to my breaking point. I think that if i fail my driver license I'll probably collapse and become a NEET.

Yes, by choice. I left school (I only have primary education) and my job some time ago. I'm planning CTB, so I decided there was no point in bothering. I don't do anything specific and spend the money I have earned. I planned ctb until the end of the year. I must admit that this life is really nice :). This just shows me how much it costs to be active in society.

Somewhat. I feel like a complete and total burden. It's not entirely my fault as I'm disabled, but it still feels like utter garbage.

I got back into art lately which helps, but only marginally.

I've been a neet ever since I graduated college last year. I've "failed to launch" and basically failed at adulthood and becoming an adult. Granted, I have the 3A's (ASD, ADHD, and (social) anxiety)). I don't receive welfare or social benefits or disability though. Therefore, I don't feel like a burden on society.
Yeah I used to be one, but my case was more due to fear. I thought life was harder than it actually was

Got fired cause I was on medical leave and I am really out of energy to get a new job. Delayed all exams I got too. Can't study or work. If there was less emptiness I would feel pretty useless and upset I guess.

I hate the fact that I'm disabled as well. I hate the fact that we had no control over it either.

I am NEETish and I feel like a total loser even though a lot of it is just pure bad luck .
People around me are happy and successful (touch wood). It makes me feel even worse about myself .
I am sorry you feel the same way, you are not alone 🫂 .

Been a NEET for 4 years in total after struggling through highschool and dropping out of college one semester in. A friend managed to get me a job but I quit because I was miserable. I definitely feel like a burden. I just can't keep up with the expectations people have when even simple things feel so difficult to do.
