I don't want anyone to feel like i'm downplaying your conditions or undermining your feelings about your appearances, but here's my zero bullshit observations based on the images provided;
Csmith, your shit is not fucked up at all. You have a friendly looking face with good hair and you appear to be in decent physical shape. Your bone structure and complexion are above average. I don't know how things are with regards to other aspects of your life, but I can tell you, your looks are not bad at all.
Plagio, I understand your concern and have some knowledge of your condition. Your forehead appears even. Are you concerned that your Zygoma (cheekbones) are uneven? I suffer from that but I can't really tell if you do from the picture. You may not be perfectly symmetrical but you're features are in proportion and you look healthy (from the picture). There is nothing remarkable or shocking about your appearance, which is a good position to be in. Great facial hair BTW.
The dude with the birthmark doesn't have to worry about that much. I used to work with a guy who had about 50% of his face covered with something similar. It was called a Port-wine stain or something, and it literally covered half of his face. He grew his confidence through sports, had a fantastic personality, and his physique was impressive. His wife was an attractive woman both physically and mentally. I believe they are currently expecting their second child.
But please don't think I'm here to tell you that appearance means nothing and all the other bullshit platitudes you've probably heard a thousand times before. I'm as sick as you are of being told it's what's inside that counts by people who then spend ages doing makeup, or huge amounts on haircuts and clothes, or take a thousand fucking selfies a day. People are hypocrites. Everyone judges everyone on almost everything, and physical appearance is one of the most commonly judged criteria. It's not even only human nature....all animals do it.
I really do believe that it is possible to reach a degree of disfigurement that makes living a normal life impossible. From what I've seen of the pictures in this thread (and I can only speak about what I've actually seen), you guys aren't close to that degree. Of course it's all subjective to the individual. For example the guy I knew with the port-wine stain on his face. He could confidently perform presentations to the rest of the workforce without any fucks given (eventually). Another guy I work with at my present job calls in sick if he gets as much as one spot on his chin. It's relative to their developed coping mechanisms.
From my experience I've found a lot of cosmetic surgeons to be egotistical, money orientated, lying, narcissists. Some even psychopathic (maybe that's a necessity for cutting strangers open daily). Either that or completely unaware of their own utter incompetence. These pricks are dishonest with their before/after pictures and are entirely different people once surgery has been completed. Many provide zero aftercare and will even charge to revise their own mistakes. If something does go wrong, you are highly unlikely to win in any form of legal conflict. It's a shady business full of smiling snakes. However, sometimes it may be worth the risk. It depends on the condition, the proposed solution, the surgeon, and some old fashioned luck.
I'm not saying don't investigate surgeries or whatever, just that if I could transform into either of you guys right now, i'd be a happy man. Hope you have a good day and be kind to yourselves :)
