  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

For the last few months I have been extremely overwhelmed with loneliness and other emotions. I can't stand it, but I can't ctb yet so I need something to give me even a tiny bit of relief and this website along reminding me how I can ctb eventually are that source of relief.

I was wondering how many people do the same.

I don't get relief. It's just something to do. I do get something from chatting to people individually.

It does make me feel better coming on this site. It is a distraction from my own thoughts. I just like having somewhere where we can talk openly about these topics. Thinking of my own death does also bring me relief. I am looking forward to my eternal sleep.

This is one of the few places in my entire life where I feel like I mostly belong, so yep. Even if we're talking about depressing shit, at least people here don't treat me like I'm completely fucking nuts.

It is the one place I don't get flack from people who insist dying the way you want is not your own right. I am 70 years old. I was very physically active all my life. Riding fast horses, going to the gym since I was 23 years old and I even went on a 1 mile long ... 20 story high
zip line 3 months ago. In the last 5 years, I have felt the all-to-real effects of getting older. Losing strength (if not for weight lifting..I was really declining), and getting tired much faster than before, Plus, I watched my mother spend 6 years in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. (Horrible.) I am an avid reader and researcher but even with that...I can see what a dismal, boring situation life will be in the future, The future is a constant series of losses. I am normally a very laughter oriented person and I am extremely grateful for the physical strength I was blessed with. But this new normal feels like being on a runaway train while you watch people you love pass away and slowly lose everything. I am immensely grateful to all the members here who took time to describe in detail things like nitrogen hoods, hanging methods, SN etc. So disappointing that we can't get N easily! Please cheer up after reading this...Now go watch you tube videos of the Golden Girls because they are still very funny!

Like others before me have said, this is the only place I can go and NOT be treated poorly for thinking differently from others (at least according to what they SAY they feel/think). Since I can't lie anymore about my feelings, I can't fit well enough into normal society.

No, it's not calming to know of others distress. It can feel satisfying to vent but overall it's just a way to use up time and sometimes feel frusterated seeing jackasses perpetuate their bs. I see SS as extremely sad.

In a weird sort of way, having others who are accepting of my choices and thoughts, regardless of whether I choose life or death when it comes time, it's weirdly comforting. In the few days I've been here, being around you guys has made me a lot more relaxed about it all. It feels easier to make an informed decision rather than just being rash. In some capacity, it might even help me choose life, but who knows?

I was expecting more yes votes than no, but I wasn't expecting 100% out of 41 to say yes.

I feel you. Being able to share and interact with people who share the same interest in this "taboo" topic relieves me of the pressure of bottling up this feeling.

there is so much suffering here, it makes me sad but the site helps giving us safe info on how to stop the suffering. some users really want to help us die, that comforts me

For the last years or so ss has been the site I have visited the most, inside the outer walls of its depressing theme of sadness and suffering I have find so many interesting thoughts and perspectives , philosophy runs deep in here so does acceptance and understanding, it rarely so happens that you come across a place which seems so genuine, full of knowledge and understanding in nature.
I know it's just a temporary relief for some but a final refugee for those who have suffered their whole life, seen the worst of humanity a place for them where they can share their experience and knowledge, before moving on to whatever path awaits them sounds so beautiful and so truly philosophical.
