I can't muster the energy or discipline to clean my room. I have no visitors, no friends letalone a gf. Fuck ton of clothes are on my floor waiting to get hung up and I feel like its a whole damn job doing it, other than clothes there is really nothing else but that but I do actually focus on cleaning when it comes to stuff like food on the floor.

Edit: feel to damn burnt out to even clean.

Don't know if this would be helpful, but I've had that problem even before my mental health rocketed into the ground. I can suggest two things,
For actually doing it : Try taking it one thing at a time, whenever you have the opportunity to do it easily. Maybe you're on the way to a different room and you know you're gonna pass by your laundry machine, fill your hands with whatever clothes you've got by you. If it's easy for you to afford, a laundry basket would also help because it minimizes the distance you've got to walk to do it. People are often subconsciously set to minimize effort- you may be too, and if that's the case, aiming to minimize it without compromising results can help get you started. Also if you've got a good imagination, imagine yourself picking them up, in as much detail as you can- it can help to visualize a route and feel less stressful.
For feeling better about it: It doesn't matter. I could not stress enough how much of a whatever burger having clothes on the ground is. It doesn't attract bugs if it's not organic, and if it's not in your way of walking, who cares? It's your space, you don't need to be super presentable if you don't want to, whether because it causes you trouble, or is hard, or it doesn't bring you anything good, you don't have to do it. You aren't less of a person for not adhering to social standards if the social standards made no sense in the first place.
Clean up whenever you have people you want to impress over, or don't! Some guests don't even care about it!

When I was younger I could barely find my room under all the debris.

Nowadays, now that I'm older and wiser, I segment my cleaning. For example, I've got 2 cabinets, one on the left and another on the right side of my room. I clean these two cabinets alone on one weekend. And then I got a bunch of small drawers next to my bed. I clean these the next weekend. So on and so forth. Also, I generally maintain my place in such a way that it it doesn't get disheveled or disorganized in the first place. I don't have to clean as much.

I do a lot.. it's so bad that one time maggots started forming and I was soooo disgusted by them 😭 I only ever clean my place when I have inspections, otherwise dirty plates and clothes everywhere, trash piling up and just lots of clutter. At times, I wouldn't even have a place to sit because of the clutter so I'll have to sit on the floor… I haven't found a good enough motivation other than the mandatory inspections (common where I live if you rent). And even with that, it's always very last minute which would just trigger me to crash out in between.

Wait, maggots? I've never heard of them infesting a house, could you elaborate on what kind of maggot it was exactly? My only guess is rotten meat but even then, huh??

I remember a few years ago my old 25 m² appartment, I don't think I've washed my bedding in three years, i was throwing things on the floor, i was in my doomer phase that lasted for years, days did go on and on and nothing changed, the same routine, the same cigarettes smoked at the same exact time, i couldn't say i was in an active depression, i just was kinda bored and exhausted by all of that.

In the same period of time, i was leaving with my old girlfriend, when i'm thinking about this phase of my life, sometimes I find it hard to believe that I used to be like that, on the other hands you shouldn't be ashamed of who you are right now because better times always comes
after though times.

Then i had an opportunity to double my salary, so I moved, I was content to finally leave behind this appartment which represented only despair and loneliness.

Now my appartment has twice the area, i got twice the salary. The appartment is clean, sure there are days when things get a little more messy. Am i better ? Hell no, at first i was, more social life, i did go out quite often (like once per week) though things never really changes, i'm back to the despair and loneliness because I feel like I don't fit in this whole modern society. I just want to pretent do be someone i'm not.

I just leaved my job though i got ressources so money won't really be a problem, i'm just thinking that lately i took bad decisions in my life at bad moments that makes me feel bad right now.

Curtains drawns, i just need to get back. I know it will get better, i'll be back.
