Hard to call my self a 'survivor' of CO in the true sense as I didn't actually start the method in the fullest point of view.

So, about 10 years ago, I got a BBQ up and going, glowing white, ready to put inside my tent and go to sleep. I was interrupted literally like 5 minutes before moving the charcoal into the tent.

My method was pretty simple:
Warm up a fair amount of charcoal in a steel tray
Drink some cider and vodka to help me sleep - along with a couple of zopiclones
Bring the charcoal into the tent and let it build up for half hour
Go into the tent myself
Go to sleep, forever.

The only prep I did was I coated the main porous bits of the tent with an anti-water spray, the kind you get for shoes to make it more air tight.
I put a little fan (battery) to keep it cool.

The main issue was finding somewhere to do it, the tent would have worked if it were somewhere out of the way.

I have a friend that survived it. She was in a coma and had to completely learn to walk again. She was left with permanent pin and difficulties walking.

Had some on disposable grills (3) in a tent. Tried to make the tent airproof and sealed, waited grills to burn brielfy. Went to tent after them to pass out(with help from booze and pills). Woke up several hours later with a terrible headache, one of the grills burned hole at the bottom of the tent. Permanent memory problems after that.

I don't think CO lends itself to being a good method from which to survive. This will be method in all likelihood, unless something better (N) comes around. CO is one that needs to be done right the first time with no screw-ups.
