Another reason why I think some psychiatrists in Austria are fucking dumb or lazy.

So I'm gonna tell you what just happened and you can tell me if you think the doctor is lazy or just dumb.

I cut myself on various places today, I got myself very drunk, cried for like an hour, tried to cut my main artery on my wrist and told my caretakers in my shared apartment im suicidal.

Then I got scared and told them I am fine and they sarcastically told me to say that to the doctor and called the ambulance on me.

I waited for a while, for a 5 minute conversation which went about like this:

Doctor: Why did you cut yourself? (I was hiding the Blood on my main artery)
Me: I got drunk and felt bad.
Doctor: But you didn't want to kill yourself or anything, did you?
Me: *shrugs* Like I said, I got drunk and felt bad.
Doctor: *calls my caretaker* Yea she is definitely not suicidal and its just her impulses acting out I'm sending her home.
Me: Aight, well that was interesting.

I don't know if doctors are ignorant, or just prolife people in general, but they seriously are dumb. It's sad to hear how common it is that they just don't know how to talk to depressed and suicidal people. Even my mom told me to lie to the doctors because she doesn't believe or know me at all. Which is good because they were gonna send me to have a talk with a depression counselor, or a ward (if I was honest) but it feels bad that you have to watch yourself and what you say just so people don't lash out and force you to do things.

It's so distressing that there is nothing they can do to help apart from decide whether or not to incarcerate you.

I don't know, the thing that annoyed me most was that he kinda just wrote me off on my BPD diagnosis, like yea I have BPD but not everything I do is because of an impulse from that. And yea like, hes specialized in finding out you're lying but he's either too dumb or doesn't care enough

Yes, it's either sitting at home thinking about suicide and attempting suicide or sitting in the psych ward thinking about suicide but not being able to do it. Also who gives them permission to rule over my life. Like it's my decision if I want to kill myself.

It's sad that you have to lie when you get asked if you need "help" because they would put you in a ward. I don't really know if they are sl dumb to believe it when you say you're ok or if it just that they don't care. Wichever it is, it sucks

In some cases they basically prolong our torture while lying to us and to everybody that there is anything anyone can do about it. While getting paid for it and getting to call themselves professionals. When there is jack shit they can do to help us. Fucktards.
