Hello,i'm sorry if this doesn't exactly belong here or it makes someone uncomfortable but i was wondering if anyone here has any ANA/Weight loss/Loss of appetite tips? I'm planning to ctb soon (i have many reasons as to why i will ctb but this is only one of them),the thing is i was overweight my entire life and altough i don't plan to ctb by starvation since that takes really long, i really want to be at least a couple pounds lighter in my last few months/days and i think it would also make my chosen method (SN) a lot easier since i would need a lot less to take and be sure it works.Sorry if this sounds dumb or doesn't make sense,i just want to know the feeling of being a somewhat normal weight once in my life before i ctb.Thank you for any suggestions or help.

Sorry, i think i worded it kind of weirdly but basically what i'm looking for is supressing my appetite (methods,pills etc)because of my binging etc,i just want to be able to not eat at all or very little.

hey bro just a quick heads up losing weight may make you want to no longer CTB as much but the main thing ya gotta do is get a calorie deficit thats the only thing that really matters just eat less and do more (yeah ik its harder than it sounds) eg i can squats real easy but suck at doing sit ups if i wanted to lose weight i would focus more on squats or another exercise i'm good at that part of the reason so many people do cardio to lose weight and cause it burns a lot of calories and when it comes to taking in more calories just eat foods that aren't as calorie dense aka the food is the same size it just has less calories

I would reccomend quit your fast food, if you eat any fast food at all that is. Then I would suggest, to eat as much fruit/veggies as possible, they make you much fuller than fast food, and don't have much calories. While I mentioned calories, I would reccomend going in a calorie deficit [ Calorie deficit is basically, not eating as much calories as you use to intake, for example, if you eat 2500 per day, you should decrease that to 2000/1500, depending all on your body frame and all ]
I am no expert on this, get some better research on this, to get much better results.

I tried calorie deficit a bunch of times,i even used to workout but when my mental health problems got worse i couldn't even leave the house.The fact that im always at home doesn't help either since i don't move a lot.I fell like i need something that would supress my appetite as much as it can since i binge a lot due to stress and boredom basically.I have days when i don't eat anything or hardly something but then the day after i get so hungry and binge like crazy.

Thank you for your response i appreciate it! I'm sure i will ctb since a got a lot more reasons,this is just one of them but ig that's a story for another day haha,don't want to vent on the "Methods" tag.I just know it would make it easier for me ,a lot of times when i was about to do it i told myself i can't cause people would see my ugly naked body when i die etc.I got a date in mind and i'm like 80% sure i will do it on that day i just want to try and accomplish this if i can.
Have you considered going to a gym? I would reccomend planetfitness, as it has most equipment available, and most begginers start in that gym, and it's affordable, it's nothing too crazy. You could do some cardio on the bikes and what not.
I used to go to the gym but due to mental ilness it's impossible for me at this point,i have a really bad social anxiety and i never leave the house,i don't go to work or school and since i live with my family i don't have to even go to grocery store or anything like that,it's just always being at home for me and i wish i could go out but i can't.

I do not know you but I think that a normal dose of SN is enough for every weight.
It was successful for many people of various weight.
If you wish to lose weight still, the combination exercise plus diet is the best.
I was obese and I lost 20kg. So, I feel legit on this topic.
Small steps and consistency are the most important.
You need to like the exercise you do. Also important. And you need to enjoy the food you eat. Often a colorful plate makes me satisfied.
And if this is once a week at the beginning this is fine.
I started running 5 minute a day. And build up from there.
If you prefer another sport, it is fine.
This is a process more than a goal.
I still struggle with self-image so I also get your struggle.
And ANA is sometimes my friend. But this is a toxic friend

Thank you for the reply!I get all of this,like i said i used to workout,it might not have worked like i wish it would but most of it is because of my bingeing,i have days where i don't eat but then a day after i binge so much that i feel like i gain like 5 pounds right away(I know that's not possible but you know what i mean).Basically i tried a lot of stuff,when i was a kid i was very active ,did bunch of sports etc but the problem was always the food and me not being able to stop eating.

I get you with the 5 pounds of water often. You cannot take 5 pounds of fat n one night. But this always makes me anxious to see the number on the scale.
Yes, sport alone is not enough. I was also sporting a lot when I was young but I was eating industrial food. I only had that at home.
What I just could advise you is to start cooking with raw food.
They hide lots of sugar and fat in industrial food unfortunately.
Even if you want cookies once a week, cook them yourself.
And cooking is also a distraction from eating in a way. You manipulate food and then I get less hungry when I cook a lot.
EDIT: I lost 20kg in 2-3 years. This is a slow process. In physics we call it an adiabatic process. Which means slow and reversible.
Patience and consistence is the key.

The thing is i don't actually eat a lot of junk food or processed food etc,i usually eat homecooked meals that are pretty healthy unless you eat a lot of them and that's where the bingeing comes.Also sorry for adding stuff up with every message,i feel so dumb but i was really nervous when i wrote the first message and i forgot about a lot of important stuff like the bingeing and the fact that the only thing that would help me is something to suppres my appetite cause there's no way around it.I truly appreciate all of your messages and trying to help and i feel like i wasted your time with not saying enough info in the first message,so once again sorry!

You did nothing wrong.
All I know about binging is that you eat more than what someone would eat.
I think I do it sometimes. Because obviously when I do not eat all day then I am just starving and eat a big meal which would be more than what a "normal"person would eat.
Did you already experienced that by working out, you have less urges to binge?
I saw a lot of dietician. I learnt that it takes around 3 day to reduce your stomach size.
With binging, your stomach expands. Which couls be an issue because you need more food in order to feel full.
Do you feel a specific emotion before binging?
And what are you binging on?

When i used to workout i was even more hungry since i was burning a lot of calories so the working out basically helped only with my boredom,the weight didn't change because i wasn't eating great.When i binge i eat basically what we have at home,ocassionally i buy fastfood ,maybe like once a month,i don't really like it.I just eat homecooked meals that my family makes,like i said these are pretty healthy foods like meats and veggies and stuff but since i over eat ,then it gets unhealthy.And before i binge i just feel sadness,that's about it,the food doesn't bring me any good feelings at this point and that's why i want to cut it out if possible

Coffee is a natural appetite suppressant. If you're worried about the calories, make black coffee and mix in a pinch of salt to get rid of the bitterness. I've seen people use diet pills too but they never meantioned which ones so if you wanna go that route I would look into it. Also drink lots of water. Water is your best friend when losing weight.

Eat fruits and vegetables in high volumes so that you won't feel hungry while taking in low calories at the same time. Having a calorie budget helps you stay on track. Remember to eat a healthy amount once every two weeks so that your metabolism doesn't slow down too much. (If you're hard starving yourself ofc.) Most importantly, discipline. If you know a food is bad to eat but you wanna eat it anyway, walk away. You'll feel guilty about it later. Hope this helps, and good luck

Another things I learnt from a dietist is to exercise 1 every 2 days.
Like this, you feel less hungry.
And as Navi said, vegetables, fibers and else are better.
This would be also interesting to check how the person who is cooking cooks.
Is the person using butter or oil while cooking? This can make a whole difference.
For the sadness before binging, the only thing I can say is to let it going out.
This is good to let the tears flowing. This is healthy. And it seems to me that you try to avoid feeling sad. Or try to lessen it.
More yo will push it away, more it will come back strongly.
My mother is bulimic and I am a rule. I won't eat when I am emotional.
Often I lay on the ground and wait that the emotion passed.
When I eat while being emotional , I don't realize what I eat.
What can also help is to eat while avoiding screen. This is quite boring ;)

No problem. Another thing I just remembered is recording yourself while you eat. That triggers my ednos but I know it doesn't work for everyone.

That sounds like a great idea,before my social anxiety was this bad and used to go out i never wanted to eat in front of people because i was self concious of how i look/how much i eat so recording myself during eating might help with me being able to stop myself.

i have an eating disorder, so this kind of question is right up my alley. first off, i'd recommend trying intermittent fasting, where you don't eat for a certain amount of time and then have a few hours to eat. it's helpful not to eat past 7 pm as it can affect your sleep (which in turn affects weight loss), so i would start out with a 16:8 plan and go from there. i personally lost most of my weight doing 23:1 fasting and omad (one meal a day) where i ate nothing all day and then had a small meal for dinner. like others have said, you must be in a calorie deficit to lose weight but you don't even have to restrict yourself that much tbh since your body burns cals just from existing. try looking up your tdee (total daily energy expenditure) to figure out how many cals you burn a day and go from there. work out in the morning to burn fat cals instead of food cals. coffee is a good appetite suppressant if you drink coffee, as is nicotine if you smoke (don't start just for the suppressant though, it's not worth it). chug ice water if you're hungry because often your body mistakes dehydration for hunger. make sure you eat enough protein, and do some research on high volume low calorie foods. pm if you want to talk more! best of luck with your weight loss journey <3
