Letting Go
By Sergious Gotz
Letting Go is an interesting title choice I chose, mainly the reason for why I did was just simply "letting go".
As I watch and still do, the current state of the world. I end up having chills surge through my body, my body repeats pains, fears, and worries. What I see is a civilization that decided to hang itself, but not on the bridge or a small room, no, no, and no. I gaze upon instead the very civilization that prided itself on its science and humanities, take that very value and holocaust it to the flames of psychopaths and the ever-evolving monster that our system is, on the biggest stage of the whole world as everyone watches and does... nothing.
We have chosen this as our path, our greatest sin. Sins are intriguing, we speak in debates about sin, espouse our own morale justice, bath ourselves in our self-righteousness, and yell it out through our cars, radios, TV shows, and through narcissism. This century is our greatest test. A test we have all willingly decided not to participate in it.
Science and the humanities, are the greatest tools that were invented by our forefathers. The Founding Fathers of the United States knew the value of education, they knew the value of critical thinking, and they sure as shit knew when to act to help others and to elevate ourselves to rational-people with compassion. The Founding Fathers of the United States of course were full of sins owning people who were of course predominately black and exploited the very lands for their profit, yet through it all they created this idea. The idea. The very idea that is central for all of us. The ability to critically think, to learn, to debate what we have learned with others who are not of the same kin or thought as us, to seek people who inspired through intellectualism, and not through hate, anger, or racism.
Our sins are not that we have chosen to abandon those values in favour of demagogues who do not care for a single ounce for us. As we move further along in this world, we are at this point of danger that is self-inflicted.
Humanity as a whole has chosen this fate, since we seem to be unwilling to turn into better people for the sake of ourselves and others.
I do not know what is in store for the future, which by all account might be unpredictable now. We or us is now only me and you. This sin will be a permanent scare like the American 2024 Election to see which candidate will shape the future of that country.
Donald Trump won, and now. We see the effect this puts on the planet, yet we stand by idling, scrolling through our phones, planning for dates, and exams.
People tell us to do something... anything! Keep the Felon distracted, gossiping, and or something else entirely.
But I no longer fall for lies, the very ones that politicians like Mark Carney and the Canadian Liberals spouted, for they are all the same, just with different colours and hats.
I do not wish much for this world anymore... all I know is that future generation will criticize us and rightfully so for even allowing this cretin to crawl his orange ass through the White House.
Let them all rot! For all deserve it!
