Discussion Am I the only person who hopes that humanity wipes itself out?

Look at what some evil humans did in the past, look at the war, you get forced to kill others and get traumatized if you don't kill yourself and if you survive you probably get captured and tortured.
Now there is less war but it still happens and even in the "normal" society people get raped or heavily bullied or other bad things and when they try to kill themself they get locked up, I don't think humanity can ever fix itself.
The problem if humanity wipes itself out would be that good people who like their lives would stop to exist even though they deserve to have a great life but in my opinion it is better if noone exists than if so many people have to endure pain.
The best thing would be if there would just not be evil people and everyone would live a happy life but sadly in this shitty world this is not possible.
I really don't think that there will ever be total peace.

So in the end you decide that as long as you continue to live there is no other choice but to try to lighten your day to day somehow.. and the first thing you throw in the trash are these thoughts that lead to nothing... if at least you make them feel better, but not that much.

I certainly believe that people shouldn't do the horrific and cruel thing of choosing to procreate, voluntary extinction is realistically what should happen with this awful species, it's tragic how many humans are so delusional and lack awareness not to procreate in this harmful world where there is unlimited potential to suffer.

But it's not just humans that are the problem, it's life itself. As well as human suffering there is all the meaningless torture that animals experience without the awareness that they are trapped in a futile cycle of worthless suffering all because of evolution. It's a horrifying mistake how life even exists in the first place, there should just be nothing instead as the complete absence of everything is ideal.
The amount of pain and torture that has been experienced in this world and will do in the future is beyond comprehension, it's truly disgusting and unjustifiable how innocent beings end up tortured all for no reason. So yes, it would be ideal if this world disappeared peacefully into nothingness as nobody can be harmed by not existing. Life was completely unnecessary in the first place.

Humans will evolve. I think AI is part of next evolution. I think many people fantasize about the end of humanity. Apocalypse themes and the end of humanity have existed for thousands of years

Idk if now there's less war.. the military spending is increased according SIPRI. After cold war well nuclear tech, the war shift into economy which idk if it's worse or better.
I don't think nuclear war will happened, the military industry is a very lucrative business.

Yes, it would be ideal for humans to disappear. I'd go as far as wildlife as well, simply because of the predator and prey relationships.

I agree with OP, but I guess that the people who (at least for the moment) wish to continue living will always be the majority. So I think it would be unfair to deprive the majority of their joy of life for a minority of people to be freed from their suffering.

Tbh, it would be better if none of it existed to begin with. But because the Big Bang happened we were all forced into existence. I am not to happy about it either. Idk about humanity wiping itself out, but I think reality should work differently. The crappy people should live unsuccessful and dissatisfing lives in isolation away from the good people like us. Reality itself punishes the good, and rewards the bad most of the time. So I think our real enemy is reality.

Without it, nothing bad exists INCLUDING all the existinal mistakes out there. Some people never should have been born, but some people never should HAD TO have been born. I usually give everyone a chance before judging, but some people just aren't who you think they are. Those are the dangerous ones and they'll always win because they are the most intelligent in a world that requires high intelligence to thrive.

Humanity wiping itself out WOULD get rid of them, but wiping out reality gets rid of them AND crap for every living thing. Therefore that's what's best.

If one believes that out of Africa stuff, a few times there were only few people (dozens?) left. But then they grew back to the billions now. It seems very difficult to wipe out human. But some outer space aliens might visit earth and need a few local helps. They might genetically modify human into a different form for better use. The new form of human might flourish and crowd out the old ones. Maybe that's what happened to the neanderthals.

Yeah, I too utterly despair with our race. I don't think we can save ourselves because ultimately- we are too selfish. In total honesty though- I don't want us to. I just hope that whatever 'ends' us will be quick and painless- but I kind of doubt that. The ideal of course would be for us to simply stop procreating and just die out naturally- that way- no one needs to be murdered but I doubt that will happen either.

It's just WHAT will end us in the end really but you can be pretty sure it will be of our own engineering. Climate change, another pandemic, nuclear war, AI. Unless I suppose it's a meteor or alien invasion. I expect we'll be long gone by then though but yeah- I can't help but look at how nature has reclaimed places like Pripyat, Chernobyl (despite the odds) and think- won't it be nice when we're all gone and that will be everywhere. It even makes me 'happy' to imagine my home rotting and being reclaimed by nature and animals.
