  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Hello. I used to have panic attacks but lately the attacks have been different. First, I start feeling some sort of pain around my stomach area. I start to have difficulty standing up, walking etc. and after I lay down on the bed or the floor, my limbs and my body moves around uncontrollably, my eyes move almost all the way up to my brain, I have a really hard time breathing and sometimes I scream my lungs out. During this, I sort of can hear my mother talking to me but I can never respond to her or react in anyway. This lasts for around 15-30 minutes and afterwards it does continue for maybe even days but with less intensity.

So, what really is happening to me? If anyone has any idea, that would be much appreciated.

You should be seen by a Dr asap. Have your mom film the episode if they happen again before you get into a Dr.

I'd say rather than film the episode, call the ambulance asap and if you're ok, go to the doctor, now. Tell your mom & doctor what you told us.

having a video for the drs can be helpful
It's true. It can help. Though, it's best to phone the ambulance first. If the mom is strong enough she can then film while talking to op while the ambulance arrives. Safety first. 🙂

We did call an ambulance yesterday but they just told me to do breathing exercises and left. I guess they didn't see the full intensity of the attack, since it was very long after it began.

Wow. That's fucked up. Do you have a practitioner (like family practice or GP)?

We have a family physician but he can't really prescribe psychiatric medication, so I doubt he can be of much help.
Also it's worth mentioning, this started to happen after I started seeing a psychiatrist. I suffer from panic attacks, social anxiety and severe depression, so I went to see a psychiatrist but the medications really made me worse. My attacks weren't nearly as bad as this and I did not have suicidal thoughts like this before. Honestly I'm scared to see a psychiatrist, scared they'll make me even worse than this...

Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry you're feeling worse after seeing a healthcare professional, your psychiatrist.

It's understandable you feel afraid after seeing that the meds prescribed worsened the symptoms.

It's worth noting that the psychiatrist and you and your family form a team. In this partnership it's important you voice your symptoms (that they are worse and that you get these seizures). If the psychiatrist keeps the same meds prescribed and doesn't want to change anything, change the psychiatrist. If you feel really bad again, go to the emergency room (or the equivalent in your country).

Note that you've the lived experience while the psychiatrist has the expertise. Combining both and working together as a team will give the best results.

Could be an adverse reaction to the new medications you're trying? I would maybe talk to whoever prescribed them to you about your new symptoms.
