Discussion Air BnB deaths

It has just been on my local news about a couple found dead in an Air BnB, firefighters were called as 'chemicals' were found at the property.
Got me thinking on whether it is best to CTB away from your home?

is this recent within the last few days? I know of another couple that were on here that met and ctb at an AirBnB in Scotland. That was about a month ago. I think it depends I live alone so ctbing at home would be the best option for me. But maybe it would be difficult for somebody else...

I will be getting a hotel when I ctb, unless I can find a private place to go in nature.

This thread instantly reminded me of that case. I wonder how common could it be that two people rent AirBnB for this purpose?

It might be more common than we realize. I think most people who do it wouldn't let others know on a public forum.

Yea but we have a bunch of internet sleuths here too. Not many SN stories get past us I think. It's definitely become the most popular method since I've joined.

When I first joined there used to be alot more variety of methods being discussed. This has only been but a few months ago as well.

I wouldn't. I can't remember the figure, but it cost a lot of money in cleanup. And chances are the person owning the place has to pay. And then they have to live with the fact someone died in their home.

Me and my ctb partner were going to Airbnb. It's protocol for a mention of chemicals for the fire service to go usually. Doubt it'll change much.

I feel like making someone live with the fact that someone died in their home is a little cruel, a hotel would be a better option if you wanted to ctb away from home because it's not really anyone's personal space.

I can't help but feel bad for the owners of the Airbnb. That cottage was a source of income for them...and now it's the site of a double suicide. Maybe that adds to the appeal for people who are into morbid stuff...but most vacationers would probably avoid that place. Not fair to the owners at all.

i completely agree, not only would it be cruel for the people renting the place, a hotel is way more equipped to deal with something like this, specially if it's a big chain hotel.
