Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Is Complete Hanging / Full-Suspension the black sheep of the hanging methods?

It's effects are the same to Partial, and the Night-Night method; 20-30 Seconds until Unconscious, then 30 minutes give or take till death.

But many have said it's a pain…
Anyone know if this is reliable?

If I was to hang myself, I would choose full suspension. Some people struggle quite violently while unconscious, and I wouldn't want to be in contact with any object/wall/floor during that, as it'd have a higher chance of loosening or breaking the rope, or moving me into a position with less pressure on the neck.

With full suspension, as long as your rope can hold your weight, you're good. It might be more uncomfortable during that 20-30s since there's a lot more pressure on the neck, but not massively so, I don't think it's supposed to be really painful.

Full suspension seems to be the most reliable of the hanging methods, but there can be some issues. Arms and legs will move around quite a bit as they try to get oxygen, so if they can bang into a wall or door this will cause noise that could cause someone to rescue you- you need at least 20 - 30 minutes to have a good chance with this method.

I believe full suspension is the superior method if you can find a suitable anchor point. Most people settle for partial because it is easier to access. All the failed hanging stories I read about is with partial. All my attempts so far with partial also failed, even though some of the attempts were fully intentional and not simply "practice".
