  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Has anyone made an Advanced Decision aka Living Will?

I have and it says I refuse all life saving treatment in the event I lose capacity to give consent.

My Dad was one of the witnesses that signed it and someone I live with was the second and they both have copies. There is also one on my file at the GP surgery.

I intend to leave a copy next to me if I CTB just in case something goes wrong. I wonder if it covers suicide attempts, though?

I know my dad will support me and refuse any treatment on my behalf and he is my next of kin.

I have half-drafted one and I still go over it often so that it doesn't look like some kind of prelude to a suicide attempt.
Not so in my case. Where I live, however, together with the request to process it, you also process the euthanasia in case, when the case comes, it has to be applied.

Have looked into them and hae decided it is not worth doing one since it can come down to the doctors decision on what happen and thinks is best.
So if you are young there is a chance the doctor will do everything to save you. On top of that if you are found from an attempt they will not know you have a living will until someone can notifiy them meaning you could be saved until a family member tells them.
It is a rather complicated mess that can arise from them. Worth seeing if you can talk to a lawyer about it to get the final say.
