Like I just can't even comprehend it. By choice, you had sex, probably without protection and despite penis in vagina not being the only option you did that and now a parent at 16. I simply can't fathom having kids during a global pandemic in your 20s or 30s but kids having kids always makes me sad. I assume you also live in the US, considering how you used fahrenheit degrees. Our sex education is terrible as it's funded by ... Well, fundies (though, some states have it better than others). So, I don't entirely blame 16-year-olds for getting knocked up. If sex ed were more comphrehensive on a national scale, we'd see a lot fewer unintended pregnancies.

16 & pregnant on TLC was one of my guilty pleasures. No I don't think the people (kids) in the show should be having kids of there own, when they are still kids. Personally, I think both the teen and the parents are to blame. Sure, the teen has raging hormones in their body, but that doesn't mean they can't control it. The majority of us held back and waited until we were older. And of course, the parents should be responsible for giving the teen thorough education on topics such as this.

Can we please stop with the bullshit of passing the blame. Not only anecdotally, but there are plenty of teenagers fucking raw and pulling out. It's really not that hard - worked for me for 6 years until I got snipped. It has nothing to do with sex ed - by the time you're fucking, you know that if you cum in a girl's pussy, she may get pregnant.

No I am talking about raising kids who are responsible and aware. It has little to do with knowing the bare facts of how one gets pregnant.

I can't speak to other countries, but sex ed in U.S. public schools needs to be improved. Obviously another part of the issue is just the teens being irresponsible.

Something that has not yet been brought up in this thread is the fact that the more effective birth control methods (e.g. IUD, implant, pills) are only available by prescription. A 16-year-old will probably not want to go to the effort of going behind their parents' back to get a prescription or asking their parents for birth control. At most, the teenagers would probably be using just condoms, since they're well-known and available over-the-counter, and condoms are estimated to be only 88% effective.

I can't fathom anyone at any age having kids. I am so glad I never reproduced. I would never want to be responsible for inflicting this world on another person.

I feel so lucky to never have that "clock is ticking" or maternal instinct in me. I hate most of my life but one thing I always love is not having annoying kids to deal with. Having peace and solitude in my house is everything.

I personally can't even imagine having kids because I still feel like I'm mentally stuck as a child. It just feels wrong because I still think I'ma kid in some ways. And also that I hate existing and don't want to spread the disease called life.
