Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Aborted suicide attempts are situations wherein a person tries to make a suicide attempt but is unable to. This is sometimes also called a "suicide attempt-attempt".

Aborted attempts are different than regular attempts because in aborted attempts there's minimal-to-no injury.

For example:

In an aborted attempt at an OD, a person might manage to swallow one or two pills well below a lethal dose. In an aborted attempt at jumping, a person might just spend hours standing on a ledge without acting. An aborted attempt at bleeding out looks essentially the same as regular self harm.

The common thread, with aborted attempts, is the lack of follow through.

Aborted attempts aren't really spoken about or recognized. Clinicians tend not to count them at all. So there's no clue about what these kind of attempts mean in terms of future suicide completion/risk.

Personally I have had 4-5 aborted attempts but no real ones. I'm curious on people's thoughts here.

i was in a room w carbon monoxide from burning charcoals while tested a hot air gun as a way to light coals w/o stacking paper or flammable liquids or other shit that would draw neighbors attention when done outside. left the room and pour water over them after i start feeling myself dizzy. kindaa regret that i didn't stayed in the room long enough to snuff me. doesnt count as an aborted attempt but i wouldn't mind to die while testing waters.

So you were testing a method and not making an attempt? (Just clarifying for my own understanding).

I had a gun but couldn't pull the trigger. It's so scary once I'm actually holding it and thinking about what could go wrong or what death is like.

Sry for necroposting. Just restored access to my account. It wasn't an attempt I tried to light charcoals w a heat gun bcs it's seemed to me faster and less annoying than lighter fluid and I did it indoors to hide smoke from the neighbours. Just tested an alternative way to make coals ready for hibachi method

God, I've had a dozen aborted attempts. From having the rope around my neck and not being able to lean forward to having a wine glass full of chloroform in my hands and not being able to drink it down (do not try this).
