After a very long break here is another politics thread of mine. The study was talked a lot about in Germany but that probably applies to many countries.
However, one should not rely to much on a single studiy instead meta-studies are more reliable.

Considering Andrew Tate the results are not a suprise.

The most obvious explanation is: men are scared to lose their privileges through emancipation/minority right movements. Personally, I think it is good minorites get more rights because I am mentally ill and thus disabled (in my case). I think it is good to live in an inclusive world where women get more rights. I hope through their own struggle they might be more empathetic towards discriminated people.

At the same time there are a lot of stories that contradict this narrative. For example, femcels or feminists that agitate against trans people. Moreover, I think in college some people assumed that because I a young white man I would have never been discriminated against. I read such assumptions also applies to many Jews.
The prejudices might only change the direction. The truth might be an answer in between. I would have been interested in @DarkRange55 's opinion on this study.

The way more important question: Is being a leftwinger considering this development positive for my dating prospects? There is a very famous German right-wing politician that is currently involved in a spying scandal. He posts many TikTok videos and he gives advices to young men how to find a gf. Real men should not be brainwashed. Men never should be nice, soft, weak or leftwing. He also suggests not to watch porn and to be self-confident and then you will get a girlfriend. Personally, I won't adapt to these suggestions. The self-confidence is the best suggestion. I am ambivalent on the porn thing. I am sceptical to receive dating tips from a guy who can only endure the bullshit he spreads when he is drunk all the time. I have met a lot of sexually traumatized women and I have the feeling people like Andrew Tate (or him) are responsible for that.

My mistake. I wanted to say I would be interested in your take on this study. The simple and easy explanations might not be the most insightful. Good to see you back in this forum due to your quality content. However, for your own sake it would have been probably if you never had to return to it.

You can be leftist. But best to heed the dictum: "Show, don't tell"

Example: today I met a Sea Shepherd. A biologist who got on a boat & fought whalers to defend marine wildlife

This is a leftist of action, who proved his skills — one fundamental of male attractiveness. Because Getting Things Done requires far more depth than having mere opinions. Sexy af, I imagine. Even to rightwingers

("Left" means too many things to too many people. So to be specific, I could discern his anarchist/socialist influence; but like many anarchists, he didn't volunteer it until I probed)

Rightwingers overstate the case that you should be a rightwinger. Sure it's true, they have better relationship-advice infrastructure, a culture of some stoicism, etc. But it's like reading the Wall St Journal or Financial Times; you don't have to like its underlying assumptions to benefit from it

A study says women become increasingly more left-wing, men increasingly more right-wing. Which could be the reasons for this polarization?
Organizers who work within social movements, as usual. What we think of as "culture" (and political common-sense) could be seen as a bunch of social movements that were more or less successful

To gain mass appeal (because elites are few), rightwingers target rifts/weaknesses in leftist movements

I wouldn't classify Andrew Tate as "right-wing". Nowadays he's just an Islamist influencer.

I think this is a very interesting question. I'd like to give my perspective but it would end up another mega-post.

But in short, relations between the genders, and in turn people's internal male/female dynamics, have become acutely dysfunctional. If I were a conspiracist, I'd say that this disharmony benefits our corporate/political overlords.

A systematic attempt to divide

1. The family unit. Children without fathers ultimately wind up with the government as their father
2. The population as a whole against itself. If we're all fighting each other, we can't unite against people responsible

It's always hard to have discussions on politics because people really don't know what they're saying like 90% of the time. https://www.pewresearch.org/politic...xual-orientation-marital-and-parental-status/

This survey supports the post. Having more education also correlates with more liberal views which women are getting more of and men is lower https://educationdata.org/education-attainment-statistics

I don't know if there's really a divide though. Most people have crappy ideas anyway and really not many people go for higher degrees. 9% of the population in the US has a Bachelors. Like 2mill people(actually like 20mill whoops). I don't know how relevant that is

yeah no totally liberals are the best. weird how liberals choose to side with fascists all the time though. case in point, joe biden with israel.

A new plumber, carpenter, or engineer will make much more money than a new journalist, nurse, or teacher. They'll often have significantly more job opportunities as well. One interesting thing imo is that many professions typically dominated by women like nursing and teaching often provide just as much or even more value to society but are often dependent on public tax dollars, unlike the trades and STEM fields, which can easily support themselves with the free market.

A new tradesperson or STEM graduate (more likely male) might feel reluctant to fund public services like free college for all when they see videos of a few college students throwing extravagant parties at school only to wind up working in a fast food resturant later because of what they see as a useless degree. They are more likely to support conservative measures because they view themselves as hardworking and others as lazy or undeserving of a "handout".

A liberal arts graduate or healthcare worker (more likely female) might feel underappreciated for a service that they can provide that many think of as just as vital to the economy and society at large. They see people without degrees or from different fields criticizing the decision to study liberal arts and refusing to pay for public services as going against everyones' shared interests. They are more likely to support liberal measures because it directly affects their career/ worldview, and view themselves as more educated, while thinking that people voting against public services are stupid and uneducated.

This problem is slowly getting worse as STEM fields remain lucrative enough to make a decent living and trades salaries go up due to the shortage of people willing to do them while our public service sector continues to deteriorate. I am sure the culture wars are aggravating these divides as well.

--

tl:dr Men statistically are more likely to train and work in higher income fields, either through STEM programs in college or through trade schools, which work well with the free market. Women statistically are more likely to train and work in lower income fields either through liberal arts programs in college or through nursing schools, which often are more dependent on well functioning government funded public services.

Females are more likely to agree with a social trend because females are more likely to want to fit in compared to males. That's the simple truth. Not all females, not all males [understand reading comprehension]. But from an evolutionary standpoint, this is how it is.

Females are more likely to be left leaning democrats because of pushes on social media and fear of rejection of social groups online from speaking out if they disagree [this will happen with literally anything too, you'll be cancelled if you say something wrong [I have been for saying my service dog has been attacked twice by pits and been called a racist because of it??]]. Males literally do not give a shit.
