A SN victory for pro-lifers ?

SN is currently unavailable from a certain seller on a certain reliable popular website. It's not even showing up when you do a "sodium nitrite" search even with the name brand'

After reading through the reviews it made me wonder if the seller stopped selling it over suicide complaints or if they just ran out of stock because of all the people ordering it for the purpose of suicide.

my brother committed suicide with this product 2 weeks ago. the fact that it is sold with no restrictions is absurd.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your comment is only confirming the effectiveness of the product though. You may want to consider removing it for that reason.

My niece used sodium nitrite to commit suicide. It is being recommended on suicide websites and in suicide handbooks. Please stop selling this product. It's illegal in many other countries. I've already notified amazon and they said they would help with this but they have not.

Very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately there are many goods sold on Amazon and other online retailers that can be used for such a purpose (sodium-nitrate or -azide, rope, knives, etc.) and banning so may items is not a practical endeavor nor fair to sellers who offer goods for legitimate purposes.

There are people complaining that this product is "dangerous". Yea, and so are knives, screwdrivers, hammers, and bleach! Even BOILING WATER is dangerous! Don't blame the product for how it's used (or MISS-used). Quite frankly, I too bought this because it is now known to be a reliable suicide method. So? You will NEVER stop suicides by banning the "tool". Don't be ignorant.

Great product. Bought multiple times, has many great uses. As for the person who said this product is dangerous. Many legal products and chemicals in the united states are far more dangerous. There are even people who have committed suicide from overdosing on caffeine. The solution is not to illegalize everything, or to impose your values on others.

Even though it will probably be awhile before I ctb, this just makes me want to buy it now before it becomes harder to find. Also I find it funny that people think putting a ban on this item will help anything. If someone really wants to die they will find a way regardless. How about putting that energy into advocating for better mental health care services or something? No one seems to care as much when these people are struggling before they finally commit the act.

Wow, they took down a particular popular brand. They took down the "loud wolf" producer, and that manufacturer took it off their homepage as well. It is still easy to get other brands, but there are definitely steps being taken.

seriously, i have absolutely no respect for prolifers any more, the problem is not N or SN, the real issue is that some people live such bitter and tragic lives that they decide to go against nature and end it all, and there is no way of helping them with our current understanding of the human body and psyche, some people are just pro other people suffering. there is not a single thread of empathy in that kind of people.

but just like the prohibition of ilegal substances, there is always a way to get what you want or alternatives.

I got lucky and bought one before they banned it. I went to go buy another as a backup and I couldn't believe they banned it in the USA. I screamed "bastards!". They're banning everything . That was the perfect 99.6 percent highest quality sn.

They banned F,n, co ,next will be sn. It hurt so much I regret not buying a few more jars. I should've known.

Unfortunetly I dont think peoples arguement in the reviews; that you can also buy, knives & bleach etc, will hold much sway, the reason why it appeals-and as such why some people want it banned- is precisely because it offers a way that is less traumatic, less painful-unlike trying to stab yrslf, drink household chemical etc. So in taking away a more peaceful option- I guess the aim would be to deter (or I would call it blocking!) people from ctb.

Why do you all think that the rule about sourcing exists? Its to try and prevent sellers being identified so that a product remains available. But when just about every thread concerning SN contains information about a seller, its hard to catch them all. Hence this thread from myself

I couldn't find SN listed on the manufacturer's website. They list countless other products but that one is not even listed or i couldn't find Sodium Nitrite. They are the producers. So if it's not listed then it looks like they stopped selling it.

Not on the retail site . The producer for that name Brand has a website that is different from the A site .They manufacture many chemicals. You are talking about the big retail ecommerce site that is taking over the world . I searched the Producer's website and all manner of chemicals are there except SN is mysteriously missing.

I googled the producer's name and sodium nitrite .And then i went to the page for that chemical SN and it said this :
"There are no products to list in this category. "

When they did have a product in that category SN. And now they don't but they make hundreds of other chemicals which are there.

No, I've been following them because I was curious what they were going to do about this. About a month ago they stopped producing/selling it from their website. Amazon distributors still had their product for a few weeks but once they sold out presumably they couldn't restock anymore.
