ignore this if you will, doesn't bother me either way, just need to let out some anger here.

god the comment section on tantacrul's video drive me up the wall, i revisited his channel out of curiosity, and got myself riled up, again. an 'echo chamber of sad, lonely, depressed people' is what they call sasu. if anything, they are the anomalies. how can you sit here and make baseless claims that can be refuted in seconds?? how? after the thousandth comment preaching the beauty of life, i had completely given up speaking to a single one of them. it makes my blood boil, the way they speak of us as helpless little animals that can't control ourselves. just shows the way pro-lifers challenge their system of thought.. they don't.

anyone can see how ridiculous their thoughts are. this has probably been said a hundred times, but it doesn't hurt to be the 101. i wish they would sit and research anti-natalism and consider for just a moment, that we deserve the right to ctb. i am not a lonely woman. i am not sad and depressed. i have come to the conclusion purely derived from thought and consideration. i derive no significant joy, nor pain, from my life, other than the effort it takes to survive. there is no point to my life, and id rather it end sooner than later, for the sake of convenience. im sure we are all aware- neutrality < peace and non-existence. at least through death my thoughts wouldn't irritate me, in fact, they wouldn't exist at all.

goodnight. i have a flight to catch early next morning, no use in dwelling on whats already been said. i full much better letting this out, but for the sake of keeping an online presence of my thoughts, this will still be posted. xx

Honestly I wish it were easier to die. Everyone deserves a peaceful death, especially if they choose it. We all die someday and contrary to popular belief dying of old age sucks. You're body is literally deteriorating along with your mind. If you're lucky, you'll have some nice children who can keep you company....but for most people you'll basically be abandoned by society. That's ofc after a life of slaving away for the machine hahaha.

I have tried clearing up misconceptions about SaSu in the comments multiple times. My comments were fairly lukewarm and tailored to people who were obviously against this forum and still they were deleted without fail. Just remember that the comments are not indicative of actual attitudes people have on average.

I've mentioned before that most people have a threshold of pain before everything is fair game and they don't bother to be rational or fair to others anymore. I think the video was that point for Tantacrul. I have no doubt that learning of one of your fans' suicides is incredibly disturbing for somebody who hasn't had to think too deeply about suicide, and his video is his emotional response to that trauma; it's an echo chamber he's made to cope with the death of a fan. The anger at SaSu isn't a consequential philosophical disagreement, it's an emotional outlet that's unfair to the members here.

I'm not saying this to defend his video or him as a person. I just think that when people present blatantly incorrect and inflammatory information and cultivate these echo chambers, it makes more sense and is less frustrating when you consider it as a consequence of the person's experience rather than a flawed logical argument you must debunk.

Exactly, and spot on. Compete abandonment is the best case. Worst is you get beat by your caretakers, and die from infected bed sores , because they can't put their phone down.

Whether we like his commentary or not, the fact is that video has be known to drive more people to this site! I was in a place (still is) where I wanted to escape all this emotional and physical pain and disappear. His video gave me the hope to think this place gave an A-Z guide of how easily it is to do, so I came running and searching! Any member on here knows that last statement is far from the truth. I will say this site has prevented me from more botched attempts.

People come to this site for many reasons. I remember I believe it was a mother of a person who committed suicide. The mother was just here trying to find a better understanding of all of this. The mother didn't comment a lot but she was respectful and made it clear why she was here.

Whatever the reason is people stop by I only hope they leave with a better understanding of this population. I'm sure the average person isn't privileged to hear people speak so positively about wanting to ctb. I'm assuming visitors come here once suicide has is within their family or friends. People need someone/ something to blame so they blame us! The reality is some people never came to this site before an attempt.

That youtubers video doesn't depict SaSu in an accurate description at all! I've been here long enough to say this is a safe space where we can gather and be honest. Some may have succeeded, some may have attempted, and some have not even tried.

Fun fact: before I ever seen his video, I had prior attempts. Once a menver here, I had 1 attack and headed towards my second before I aborted the mission. What saved my last attempt was this site! I posted my method and everyone quickly stated it would fail and even attached an article of a person who attempted my method.

As long as people are talking about us, then great! No matter what they say, we know the truth! These conversations need to be had. Some people have these conversations when it's too late. However theu describe me, I simply don't care, let them talk! I believe if their still talking means they are still watching. Like I stated before, my only hope is they learn something on the way out.

Same, this video was my introduction to the website. Though, at the time, I was a dumb teen, was super anti-suicide, bigoted and easily influenced by various far-right content that I thought made me fit in with the society around me. Never would I have though I'd end up going full 180 on most of my views from the past, even less that I'd become a SaSu member.

the video comments piss me off so much. they reduce us down to just depressed lonley people. like, yeah, we're depressed, we want to fucking kill ourselves, of course we are. rather than offer any kind of assistance or point out how its fucked up that we had to create a community dedicated to discussing this rather than being able to talk to our own family, friends, or mental health support services, they just resort to calling us the problem - the people that are suffering.

it's such a backwards and reductive world view and i hate the fact that there's an entire video about this place.

I used to watch Tantacrul haha. I'm really into music, so I watched his Sibelius video which at the time I found genuinely quite funny, I think I watched the SaSu vid the week it came out, since I subscribed to him.

The video itself and the comments are super preachy and misrepresent the site to a pretty insane degree. Not only that, I'm pretty sure that video is also SaSu's first time in the mainstream limelight (I could be completely wrong though, just a guess.) I also don't think it's a coincidence that Tantacrul, who is British, covers SaSu and then the BBC write articles about SaSu and THEN the British government takes action.

Then again I can't really complain. Like NutORat and dontwakemeup, Tantacruls vid was my first exposure to SaSu, and I had already tried other places to vent and talk (mostly Reddit lol) which hadn't worked out. The amount of traffic that Tantacrul has inadvertently directed here has got to be INSANE lmao. I'd love to see the spike in searches for "SS forum Tantacrul" on a graph or smth lol.

I was pretty surprised when I got here tho and started reading. This forum is mostly for support. I genuinely don't think I can recall a single post of someone telling someone else to ctb, instead telling them what not to do, and how not to hurt yourself. This isn't a pro-suicide forum, but it's not anti-suicide either, and I think that's what everyone gets all pissy about. People come here because you don't get that preachy judgement you find nearly everywhere else.

As much as I resent Tantacruls video for misrepresenting this site and its community so badly, I'm really glad it brought me here. If I didn't find it when I did, I think I would've attempted something far stupider than my current plan. This site has genuinely saved me from liver failure, so in a roundabout way I should really be thanking Tantacrul haha.

Yeah and you'd have your comments deleted if the comment hinted at anything but being against the site. It's literally a curated echo chamber comment section for no reason.

It is very frustrating to hear that this community has been reduced to just an "echo chamber" when it is so much more!

What the people who are against this community do not understand, is that Sanctioned Suicide exists solely because suicidal people, especially those who hold a pro-choice stance, are almost always pushed out of mainstream discourse. We are made to feel awful for our experiences and beliefs. Any time we make an attempt to explain our position, even with politeness and civility, we are dismissed as insane or broken; this only serves to push suicidal people away from opening up, and forces them underground where they find like-minded people who will actually listen - completely - to what they have to say without unfair discrimination.

A suicidal person can only explain how they are feeling when their thoughts fit within the narrative that is set by broader society - i.e.: you must completely enjoy life, and never think that suicide is acceptable. This sounds very similar to an echo chamber.

the way he described sasu in the video as a "cult" or just cult-like is so stupid… it's absolutely nothing like a cult.

the video felt like a very "kick them while they're down" type thing. :-/
