85ft into water.

Seriously considering a bridge with a 85ft drop into Water or on concrete. Will that kill? There has been many that have succeeded with that height.

That's what I thought but I do read that people have died from falling into the water and dying at the scene.

I've been cliff jumping into a waterfall from nearly that height on a guided tour. 85 ft isn't nearly enough into water. lostallhope says that the minimum recommended is 150 ft for land, 250 ft for water, thats's for a 95% to 98% success rate. i'm always surprised that there is no jumping megathread pinned on the sasu suicide resource thread.

I agree, 85ft just sounds too risky Imho. Thanks for sharing that alonely, was kinda curious.

I haven't heard anything recently, ( probably from all the security / new safeguards ) but some years ago would come across Numerous reports of people jumping from the GGB. Golden Gate bridge.- Not sure how high it is, but I remember somebody saying in an interview that hitting the water from there would basically be like a brick wall .

Some people have survived it and told their story, while the majority were killed I think. Kinda unsettling Imo, which is exactly why I will never jump. Firearm all the way. -

its odd because that is just not very high. of course i dont know what happened but i am almost thinking it would have been some combination of being drunk or having taken drugs, idk belly flopping into the water or some way that would maybe cause unconsciousness, the water being really cold to shock a person, maybe the river being really shallow so they hit the bottom, and drowning. 85 ft into water just doesnt seem like enough for it to have been death by jumping / surface impact to the water.

Only way I would recommend doing this is if you live somewhere that it gets below freezing in the winter and jumping into the water on a really cold night: if you land properly you might lose consciousness and then freeze/drown before waking up. If not, you'll lose consciousness from hypothermia fairly quickly. Other than that, no, I wouldn't say that's high enough for water or concrete reliably. You don't want to break your back and have to live the rest of your life paralyzed.

Yes theres a chance it would work but also a chance of failure. Remember, someone has survived from falling from a plane, you might survive the fall from that bridge. If you want to make the chance of death higher, try landing on your head, maybe drink beforehand so SI wont be as strong. Good luck. (Dont jump on the water, not very sure it would work)
