Found this forum too late now looks like I can't get SN . So thinking of jumping from a bridge. Very worried about SI but won't know till I try.
The highest bridge near me is 85ft. I know it's not a guaranteed fatal height but it's my best bet. People have definitely died jumping from it. Not sure how many. But enough that there's samaritans number plastered all over it.
The bridge mostly covers the river and most people jump into the water. I guess it's less scary and even with minor injuries you could drown as secondary injury. But seems too risky to me. Many people have died that way but others have been pulled from the water and survived. I know people have also survived much higher falls into water.
Part of the bridge is over streets, so i was thinking a jump onto concrete is more likely to work ? The few articles I can find on those jumpers seemed to be pretty much instantly fatal. Stats I found for 85ft (7 story) drops onto concrete suggest I'd have 90% chance of success. Seems pretty good odds except obviously if I somehow fail and end up in the 10%, the injuries would be horrific , life changing and make it harder to ctb.
Will concrete be better than water? Is it worth the risk or is that height too unreliable ?
