40 m is about 12 stories
You still have chance of dying but I wouldnt recommend, you dont know whats at the bottom. If theres loose sand you might just sink in it, break your spine and survive

Quite a few people have died there.

You don't necessarily see the stats on who has tried there and survived.

Online resources suggest a 76m (250 feet) jump onto water would be needed for a 95% rate of lethality.

There have been a few instances of deaths from 40ft cliffs round here,which surprised me.
I'd advise you never to risk it. It's too low. You'll most likely badly injure yourself.

40 meters is 131.234 feet.

I actually think there's a pretty good chance in dying in a jump from that height into such shallow water.

That's based off of jumps from Golden Gate, which is surrounded by extremely deep water.

I think it would require much shorter than a 250 foot jump to be virtually certain of death if you jump into shallow water.
