Discussion 40,000 member milestone

In about 5-6 hours the site will officially reach 40,000 users.

It will be the first milestone reached since the TantaCRUEL video and the first since 2022.

Some may be disappointed that there are so many people joining this site to vent as it represents a problem with society

Some are happy that these people can join this community of sad but friendly people who like to goof off sometimes

This is a thread to discuss literally anything about this milestone whether it is meta talk about it or just welcoming the new people.

(For the love of god, do not harass the 40,000th member please.)

All things considered, this is a very interesting turn on things. More eyes are opening up and many others are finding their way here with a story of one type or another. Here's to 40k

My account was literally just approved 30 minutes ago. I'm not excited about very many things lately, but I'm pretty stoked that I found this website and it's community. One of the biggest challenges (and I see this echoed throughout the forum) seems to be not being able to relate to anyone about this overwhelming feeling of dispair, for fear of being locked up. it's happened to too many people.
I'm sad that this seems to be the community I know I'll resonate most with; that we all feel not only as hopeless as we do, but have nowhere to go. I'm so thankful for this website already.

Welcome welcome in open arms. I hope you find some solace here in this place where you can pretty much speak your mind freely and people will actually listen for once instead of being performative or giving bs.

Considering how niche and relatively hard to find this forum is (and the effort required to make an account), 40k is a very large number. That's honestly a little depressing.

In a sense, I can see that, sure, though given some other ways people can actually easily find this place, yeah, it's rather telling on how brazenly society has made this problem go onto a massive scale. That being said though, I do take some calm with knowing that people come here with a reason and actively want to be in such a space.

Yeah I just noticed that too and was pretty surprised, there were only almost 10.000 members when I joined back in 2018 so 40.000 seems like a lot.

It's just people joining to research suicide methods, it's really not something surprising, wanting to die is all that makes sense to me and suicide is something relieving anyway, it's the way to escape from all future unnecessary suffering so no wonder people join a suicide forum.

Tentacruel really be growing this site despite his shitty misrepresented one sided story of this site. I wonder if he knows he achieved the opposite effect of what he wanted. Or maybe he just wanted some clout and to harrass people.

Bitter-sweet . Bitter because life circumstances are forcing people to choose the consider the last resort. Sweet because at least they have like minded people to speak to .
