This is incredibly late, but I've only used this forum during brief periods of time, and I usually only lurk the popular threads.
First off, I was Patient 1 in this study, and I was never made aware of this paper being published or my data being used at all, for the record.
They grossly misreported my case in terms of time. According to the person that first found me, I was passed out for ~1.5 hours. This time seems roughly accurate to me, as I did my attempt in the morning around 8 AM and remember being fully treated and conscious at approximately 11 - 11:30 PM at the hospital in the ER.
Everything else about the case is correct though. I believe that the DMSO likely didn't have any directly negative consequences, although since I didn't quite die, there will never be certainty. However, it was definitely far harder to stomach than SN, and I wouldn't consider using DMSO in the future simply due to the severe discomfort from it. I think it would definitely increase the odds of one vomiting prematurely.
The strong, garlic-like smell of the DMSO actually provoked them into taking a urine sample from me to test for kidney/liver damage. I don't quite remember why, but I believe the smell is often associated with some sort of common disease. I ended up being completely healthy though and my test results reflected that.
Anyway, I'm deeply apologetic about letting information slip. All the info they gained from me was when I was very dazed and almost felt like I was in a dream at the ER. Honestly, I feel as though I couldn't give consent at the time, but these situations are just different I guess...
