Thank you for sharing.

It's all making me question using SN as my method. On the one hand, it's appeal is that it apparently doesn't cause lasting brain damage if you are saved. On the other, surviving a suicide attempt and having to live with it afterwards is unfathomable to me.

I might start leaning more towards hanging again.

Why would they take DMSO? Was this part of the regimen in the past?
This was already properly answered, but I feel it needs repeating. DMSO was never part of it. It's one of those creative ideas someone had that didn't work that well but became a fad for awhile. And I would bet money it's why the SN did not work.

People get concerned because of failures like that, but almost every time the protocol was changed in some way. Things get omitted or changed, and then everyone is surprised and suspicious when it doesn't go according to plan.

But this is like everything else: If you bake a cake but use salt instead of sugar, should you really be surprised if it isn't edible?

Moral: Nothing is guaranteed even if you do things perfectly, but for best results, keep it simple and just stick to the plan.

This is incredibly late, but I've only used this forum during brief periods of time, and I usually only lurk the popular threads.

First off, I was Patient 1 in this study, and I was never made aware of this paper being published or my data being used at all, for the record.

They grossly misreported my case in terms of time. According to the person that first found me, I was passed out for ~1.5 hours. This time seems roughly accurate to me, as I did my attempt in the morning around 8 AM and remember being fully treated and conscious at approximately 11 - 11:30 PM at the hospital in the ER.

Everything else about the case is correct though. I believe that the DMSO likely didn't have any directly negative consequences, although since I didn't quite die, there will never be certainty. However, it was definitely far harder to stomach than SN, and I wouldn't consider using DMSO in the future simply due to the severe discomfort from it. I think it would definitely increase the odds of one vomiting prematurely.

The strong, garlic-like smell of the DMSO actually provoked them into taking a urine sample from me to test for kidney/liver damage. I don't quite remember why, but I believe the smell is often associated with some sort of common disease. I ended up being completely healthy though and my test results reflected that.

Anyway, I'm deeply apologetic about letting information slip. All the info they gained from me was when I was very dazed and almost felt like I was in a dream at the ER. Honestly, I feel as though I couldn't give consent at the time, but these situations are just different I guess...

Is this ur experience? Did u take SN?
Nah, never did a real attempt aside from trying to see how easy it is to get a knife close to some big blood vessels. If I had to ctb within a week it'd have to be a jump, and getting 100+m up and having an unobscure track to a hard surface is a little harder than I'd like.

I feel like case 5 will be me because of how terrified I am of surviving. I don't mind the extra discomfort/agony.

look at the reasons for 'surviving' in both cases the person was found or called for help. You don't survive unless one of them things happen. so the only way you survive are if you don't follow the instructions of doing it in a place you wont be found.

SN, plus extra drinks, not being found or calling for help = death.

now if you don't follow the protocol thats a persons own fault for 'failing', everyone knows when done properly it is a reliable way to CTB. the proofs in the amount of deaths that have resulted from it, and the amount of misinformation that people try to post about it. if it wasn't lethal people wouldn't try and post scare tactics about it.

no one has survived taking SN when they are not found/ received medical intervention

But how much noise dies the body make after ingesting SN? That's my question...

It seems like a lot of people are discovered because of the noise. A girl was in a hotel and took SN, her body made noise and she was heard, despite the freakin walls (convulsion noises).

Where exactly should one take SN? Not everyone has access to an empty house :(

you are probably going to be making noise if you are being sick, you are going to make alot less noise(just breathing) after passing out. that occurs after about 12mins (possibly before dependant on person).below is a page from the PPH listing how a person dies from SN, it doesn't mention convulsions though.

1624488084759

In the threads that have involved information about members watching others through video feed ctb, i haven't seen anyone mention people making a 'massive' amount of noise.

but your are advised to do it where you won't be found for a good amount of time, if you live alone great. if not some people have taken a trip to the woods or other quiet spot like that. I can't advise on what exact type of area as i don't know where each person lives. but i'm sure members will know of certain places that don't get alot of traffic/people going by, that would be a good spot
