Your top 5 artists/bands ?

I listen to music most days and it helps me cope to an extent . I've seen a lot of people on here seem to enjoy music so I'm curious what everyone's top 5 artists/bands would be?
For me it's Guns N Roses , W.A.S.P , The Smiths, L.A Guns and Placebo ....not necessarily in that order though.
Right now I'm trying to find some new stuff to listen to so I'd love to hear your responses.

My favourite band by a large margin is Camel. The rest, in no specific order, are Death, Cynic, Morphine and Von Hertzen Brothers. I would say.

I also like classical but never have the patience to listen to symphonies. Chamber music is great, concertos occassionally too. My favourite composers are Vivaldi, Chopin and Kuhlau.

I know my top 1 would be Evanescence, then four other candidates would be Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes, Empire of the Sun, and Blessid Union of Souls. so a varied selection

I can't make a top 5 because I listen to many different musical genres with equal pleasure and passion. Music is a defining part of my life, and it has been a faithful friend to me during good and bad times alike.

But, just for fun, here goes a list of a few names that spring to mind in the metal and classical categories:

Metal: Rush, Alice Cooper, Threatre of Tragedy, Emperor

Classical: Liszt, Wagner, Mozart, Grieg, Tchaikovsky

That is a question which cannot be satisfyingly answered, but I will give it a shot anyway by telling you the ones that had the biggest influence on me musically:

1. The shit my mother played: Bach, Vivaldi
2. The shit my father played: Rammstein
3. J Dilla/ Pete Rock/ madlib and so on
4. John Coltrane (Quartet)
5. Chopin

Roughly in that order, those discoveries were some major catalysts of musical phases I went through.
