My particular mental illnesses get worse with the time. That's how they work. I've done the treatments available and it hasn't made a difference.

Even if what you say is true and there's nothing left to be done, you shouldn't understimate the power of denial.

My parents don't know anything; it's actually the main reason I'm still here. I couldn't put my death on them like that.
But, even if one's parents did know, I don't think love is rational like that. I think they'd try to cling to their child in any way they could, and, if they've never been suicidal themselves, wouldn't be able to imagine how death could lead to less overall suffering.

In the grand scheme of things, you have to do what's right for yourself even if it hurts those you love.

Sadly I've put my family through hell with 2 failed attempts and yet they still don't completely understand the pain and hell I go through. They even tried their hardest to push for a DNR because they knew that's what I wanted (I even have a tattoo stating as much). That can't stop me from trying again no matter how painful it is for them or wether they still have hope that I'll change my mind or things might get better.

So yes, no matter what your parents are going to be sad wether they support your decision or understand your pain. I've always believed that a child should never pass before the parents do but in some cases it's unavoidable and will be devastating.

It's a given mine will be sad and that's what I aim for. I am aiming my dying will be a wake up call/slap in the face to my mom. Imagine someone keeps pushing stuff you don't want to you and withholds the ones you truly want, all while telling you to be grateful for the "love" and "gifts".
