I'm a night owl and usually I'm awake all night.
I prefer then to watch something relaxing or atmospheric or movies that take place during the night.

Blade Runner
Definitely my favorite, I just love the slow paced, noirish atmosphere, the gorgeous visuals and the moody soundtrack by Vangelis.
Now I also watch Blade Runner 2049, but the original is still the best.
Others:
The Hunger
Carnival of Souls
City of the Dead
Night of the Demon
Witchcraft ('64)

I'm an 80s freak, I absolutely adore almost any movies from the era, traveling all the way up to early 2000. Anything by Tim Burton. But my all time favorite is beetlejuice. Everyone who commits suicide wounds up as bureaucrats in the afterlife.

I assume with Alice in Wonder land you refer to the Tim Burtons version ?

Yeah, I'm a 80s kid too, I usually watch 80s comedies at day cos they're the perfect form of escapism for me.

Never heard about those, but I might check out the Frankenhole series, seems a fun one.

Yeah, The Shining is also ideal to watch at night.

Some others that I like which take place during night;
The Warriors
After Hours - probably the only comedie I would watch late at night.
Judgement night

I am a HUGE movie buff and also am awake all night, so I totally get the idea of putting on a dark - literally and figuratively - movie during the night. For awhile, as mentioned already in this thread, The Shining was a go-to movie for me.

Ironically though, in recent months, the movie I've been watching often is one set in bright daylight and is cinematographically bright in color...but definitely dark in tone: Midsommar. I've thought perhaps the aspect of movie I'm connecting with is the 'giving your life before it spoils' when you reach a certain age, I don't know but there's so much more to the film than just that so I don't know. But that's the movie I've been watching a lot lately.

I love animation a bit too much. I dont know how many times i've watch Coco, Lilo & stitch, Wall-e and so on.

Oh if anyone wants to watch a psychological thriller try looking up Exam (2009). They filmed the whole movie in just one room, but the story is still more than alot of the new movies today.

Hey @OpheliasFlowers, have you seen The Wicker Man (1973) ?, it has a similar theme like Midsommmar and is also a good late night watch.

Another good one to add to the list: Rosemary's Baby

Ah, a fellow Blade Runner fan! I've seen movies you people wouldn't believe. :P But seriously, I think Dark City fits the bill very well.

Indeed, Dark City would be a nice double bill with Blade Runner.
