Well, it's not like there are starving children anywhere on the planet that could be helped with the money spent on keeping this corpse alive... Oh wait.

Sickening and utterly selfish. They'd rather see someone suffer for over a decade, than get their feelings hurt. Just let him die in peace...

The article said:
Before the latest court ruling, Pope Francis had weighed in on Monday in favour of keeping Lambert alive.

"Let us always safeguard life, God's gift, from its beginning until its natural end. Let us not give in to a throwaway culture," the pontiff said.
I find this quote by the pope to be a very ironic one.
The Pope says: "life, God's gift, from its beginning until its natural end".

However this poor man's life came to its natural end over a decade ago.

His body is still only alive because of artificial means and doctors.
There is nothing natural about any of this.
At this point his very existence is just as artificial as frankenstein's.

People like to look down on one's decision to end their own life. Yet we seem to have no issue with prolonging one's existence, even when they are no longer technically alive, with no quality of life to speak of.

You could keep this man's body alive for the next thousand years if you really wanted to. You could keep anyone alive far past what is natural with medical intervention..

But ask yourself, is it in anyway natural?
And is it the morally right thing to do?
And if your god really does exist, would it really be pleased with you keeping people alive longer then they should be potentially otherwise? Therefore possibly going against your god's will and it's grand plan for the world?

Just some thoughts.

Disgusted beyond measure at this. Those parents do not love their son to do this to him.

Hail your master, overload in the sky ... or so said the guy in the Pointy Hat.
I'm sorry I had to say that.
