Would you make decisions for others in this situation?

There is one button that only you can press to obtain a completely painless death, while the world continues as usual.

There is another button that would grant a painless death to all life indiscriminately—including you, all humans, plants, animals, cells, and every form of living being. All existence of life would completely disappear.

A situation where you can only choose one of two options ,which one would you press?

I think it will be the first button. Me ceasing to exist would sort of feel that I ended everybody's suffering alrdy. Because i won't be there to perceive it.
Im going to turn into void , time will lose its meaning.
Also im dont want to be some kind of god , i dont want to take decisions for other creatures.

I wouldn't wanna decide for others, there are people who want to live after all. But this world just sucks, and so much suffering and pain will keep on existing. I think it would be better for everything to end than to keep this up. I guess I'm leaning more to the 2nd choice, even if I believe that those who wanna live should live

I would press the button that grants painless death only to me. I don't want to kill some living things that are enjoying this life. Some people/animals do indeed enjoy life on earth.

The first button, of course. I don't see why I should press the second one. This world is rotten, but I don't hate it and I don't hate anyone else except me.
People should have the choice to choose for themselves, that's the point of trying to free suicide and euthanasia from the stigma — choosing to kill everyone in the world just because I want to die and think this world would be better off it's just wrong and incoherent.

Second button. Life is suffering and we have been programmed by evolution to believe that everything is good, so we keep making our copies and passing on genes ( we are nothing but a disposable biological vehicle for the transport of genetic material). The quality of even the best lives is bad... We are victims of optimism bias that is itself a product of natural selection, designed to keep us alive and breeding regardless of the cost in suffering. Death is a painful process for most people, painless death is like a boon. Consciousness is a flaw of evolution as it doesn't care about your suffering, but only cares about passing of genes.

if they believed in creationism, they probably would not choose it, but
if they believed in evolution, there is no point in choosing it - all living creatures might die off, but evolution will start up again at some point, and all of the negatives of this world will just come back around - no real difference as such, but millions of innocent beings would be disposed of for nothing

first for sure. everyone deserves a choice. also, setting aside all the humans that want to live, i am sympathetic toward the environment and would never want to remove all that the earth has cultivated.
