I've asked about hypothermia before and did research. the initial phase of hypothermia is definitely painful and the person suffers before their body gives up and that final pump of blood occurs in their body which makes them feel hot and remove clothes and then die.

However I've thought of something. what about inhaling dyethil ether, which is used for anesthesia and would lead to unconsciousness? going to a freezing cold place, lying down, inhaling the ether and going to sleep immediately thanks to anesthesia and then dying in peace.

would this actually work?

diethyl ether can cause loss of consciousness temporarily (potentially leading to fall related injuries if one isn't careful), tho consciousness can return and panic can set in.
