Same here, to be honest. If the day ever comes that a doctor tells me that I need a major surgery (or worse, chemo and radiation for cancer) to fix a life threatening problem, I will be tempted to laugh in their face and walk out the door. The most realistic response that I would give is to tell them that I need a few days to think about it, then go get on the bus at the first available opportunity.
It's hard enough for me to trust doctors, given how greedy and incompetent they can be. Also, I hate hospitals and would never want to stay in one for an extended period (for medical
or psychiatric reasons). The recovery process following a major surgery doesn't sound worth it if I don't even want to be alive in the first place, but if the pro-lifers want to put themselves through that, then they can have the surgeries all to themselves.
More words that I would add to the list would probably be: Politics, religion, and cancer.
