i see a person that is not only in pain. but has normalized it so she doesnt even know shes hurting. despite the screams and flowing tears she insists that she is ok. "im fine, i dont know what youre talking about" she'll say while wiping the tears away. lost in a fantasy, not of fairies and goblins, but of believing that sadness is home. a lost understanding, truly believing the words she says. unable to explain why her sadness feels ok, probably never really knowing herself.

We have defense mechanisms that activate based on how much we think we can handle. The physical effects of the pain might push her to the limit, and the mental effects of accepting that things are bad and fighting to improve them might just be too much, so the mind denies the second part to try and endure the first.

You may see the path clearly, that while there will be struggle to make the needed change, better things await. But, as for how to reach her and get her to consider that, I have not figured that out.
