So my plan is to go out sometime in December/January, the problem is that there is a lot of snow fall at that time in my country and it gets very cold. Do you think its wise to rope on a tree in the middle of a forest at that time? I'm worried about the cold/snow affecting the strength of the branch. It should still hold me if I pick a healthy tree with a thick enough branch, right? Are there any other risks? Thank you for the help.

You'd pass before you had to deal with hypothermia so I see this as a good idea. As long as it's safe for you to get where you need to be. Would you have a way to put the rope on the branch? If it's icy how would you get up?

A homeless man near me froze to death. No one found him and he made his "home" in a busy suburb. I have a lot of trees around my house. If I dressed in white, went into the trees and swallowed a load of Klonopin, I wonder if that would be enough to do me in.

Freezing to death sounds far nicer than other options. I have heard stories of hikers on Everest going to sleep when they can no longer climb and passing away. And they're not taking tranquilizers.
