Help will this rope work?

i've been trying to find rope i can buy in person as everything i buy online is checked before i'm allowed to have the package. the best i've been able to find is an outdoor paracord rope that says it have a 1100 lb capacity and can be used for hanging things . i am 155lbs for reference and intend to do a short drop hanging

it has a 5mm diameter. but does it even matter if i'll die anyway? and if so can i just put a towel between my neck?

Usually suggested is around 10mm rope. Rope that is too thin may cut into the neck, while putting a towel or other padding between the neck and rope will reduce the amount of pressure applied (this of course depends on how much padding). Suicide Wiki warns against the use of padding for this reason.

does it matter if it cuts into my neck? so long as i position it right i will go unconscious almost immediately

I personally would not recommend it, since cutting into the neck would leave clear evidence of an attempt in case you fail.
