Will Nyquil work to make me less anxious/have less SI when the time comes?

Will it make my anxiousness/survival instincts lessen or just make me sleepy? I have no access to things like alcohol and I can't buy any (I'm an adult, but not old enough to buy). I take amitriptyline, so I was thinking of upping the dose and also taking Nyquil together.

I'm not familiar with these drugs. Why do you say that? What property do they have that lessens SI?
