I hope this is OK, I've read the rules so here goes.
Why is it so difficult to be able to sit down with someone and discuss suicide? I just want to put my point across ie why I want to. Nobody is open enough to accept this. It frustrates me. Its my life!

Because they have been indoctrinated with pro-life bullshit. I think a lot of it stems from religion, and also peoples own fear of death. It's a controversial subject, but i think it needs to be discussed more. Adults should have every right to end their own life, if they want.

Agree with nirvana and also think it's something people can't talk about/accept without potentially realizing everyone should just ctb.

Luckily you are here where that discussion is not frowned upon but welcomed. Suicide is taboo in society, its something people don't like to speak about. It's not 'the norm'.

I'm scared of death, but I'm more scared of what would happen if I don't. It's really good I found this actually, because from the sound of it, I can opened say I want to die? I don't think it's far that people don't have the opportunity to end their own life, and it's basically up to others.

Because suicide is against the human nature. The instinct of surviving. It's a difficult subject. And I hate when they say a person is sick for commiting suicide. Sometimes it's the most rational option. Sometimes the pain of living is worse than the pain of dying.

Because most people have urge/reasons to live, imminent death is extremely scary.

We are terrorizing them.

(no 'blame' there just explain how others feel)

Hello and welcome to the forum!

We are pro choice here. This is your life, a bunch of strangers shouldn't be able to tell you what to do.

Unfortunately in today's society, they feel otherwise. Strangers feel they have the right to determine your life. No different than a bunch of men telling women that they cannot have an abortion.

Feel free to poke around (the resource section is a great learning source) and ask questions. There is no stupid questions (well, there are like asking me if I can cook  )

I am here by PM if you need me.

If seeking death is against human nature nobody would go to war and risk death nor do anything that entails the risk of dying. Clearly we are able to override the instinct for survival. I'd say our species is unique in the sense that we are more than our biology or suicide would be impossible. We are able to choose the most extreme option and act on that choice.

I do agree it can very well be the most rational option available. No doubt about that.

This is why this site exists and you are free to discuss your thoughts with others here .
There is still a stigma attached to suicide even in today's world of acceptance which in my opinion is morally wrong . If you discuss your thoughts it has to be with someone who you can confide in , a good friend who will not betray you otherwise authorities may be called and you don't want that .
In an ideal world you should be able to freely discuss your intent without resorting to therapists.
When someone is in a lot of pain and there's no hope of recovery then those around them kind of understand why they want to escape the pain .
Suicide is still a taboo subject and I don't ever see that changing any time in the future unfortunately. I agree with you that you should be able to freely discuss your intent without prejudice, for the most part people don't know how to react or if they do it's almost negatively and then distance themselves from you . Not a good situation to be in when you open up your heart to someone only to be let down by them .
It's good that you found this site , amazing people here who will interact with you . Look forward to your posts

Thank you. Will take a little while, because I have no idea what the hell I'm doing ha ha.
I am glad I found this, because I don't feel I have to pretend?
Maybe the only good thing of 2020
