I read from members of this forum that for example kings ford charcoal is not good while Royal Oak is better. Does that mean that the former could be used but not preferred or not completely. I can't get the charcoal that is needed that why I'm asking thanks.

I think lump charcoal is better than briquettes. Lump will possibly provide a higher ppm of monoxide and a better burn, that is why it is recommended.
